Summary

Someone found him in a laundry basket at the Quick Wash, wrapped in a towel, a few hours old and close to death. They called him "Baby Moses" when they shared his story on the ten o'clock news.

It all happened before I was born, and by the time I met Moses and my mom told me all about him, the story was old news, and nobody wanted anything to do with him. People love babies, even sick babies. Even crack babies. But babies grow up to be kids, and kids grow up to be teenagers. Nobody wants a messed up teenager.

And Moses was messed up. Moses was a law unto himself. But he was also strange and exotic and beautiful. To be with him would change my life in ways I could never have imagined. Maybe I should have stayed away. Maybe I should have listened. My mother warned me. Even Moses warned me. But I didn't stay away.

I couldn't finish it

It's not often that I can't finish a book but, with four hours to go, I marked it as finished and removed it from my device.
It started well but my interest in the story and characters dwindled rapidly to the point where I was irritated beyond belief. I had not realised it was a supernatural book, had I done so I would probably not have bought it.
This does have several very good reviews so it might be your thing, but it certainly wasn't mine.

One of the best

Omg .. I absolutely loved this book .. brilliant story line .. not the usual soppy drivel or sex that’s in so many books these days .. kept me gripped from start to finish.. but keep your tissues on stand by .. must go need to listen to the 2nd one now

Riveting

This was a very good book. I was engrossed throughout. Picked up a few good habits to keep: 5 greats when one’s feeling low. I just couldn’t grasp the imagination and depth of the story, it was well written with romance and mystery and some knowledge gained.

The Law of Moses

YA book /Groan/ 🙄😏

As a YA novel, it's not the worst.
As a novel in general, it's pretty bad.

The repetition is irksome. The 5 Greats. The Laws of Moses. The State of Georgia.

The superficial melodramatic emotions lack depth. The "messages" are also rather basic . There is no subtext. All points being made jump up and down in front of you and stab you in the eye.
All very typical of, and probably necessary in a YA novel. I have little regard for these qualities in books I read though.

Epic Story Telling

Amy Harmon had a way with words unlike anyone else, they transcend.
This story was incredible, each word woven together with perfection.

The narration brought the story to life with vigour.

Highly recommended

Loved it!

I loved the narrators voices. Especially the male. His voice was soothing and great cadence to listen to! The story telling is ten out of ten. Perfection

Absolutely brilliant

I don’t write many reviews but I felt compelled to write this. If you looking for a really uplifting powerful tale told absolutely brilliantly by the two narrators then definitely download this book. I can’t recommend it enough. Just brilliant

Unusual Story

I'm familiar with a few novels now by Any Harmon and she's not afraid of diversity A well written story perhaps not brilliant but a good read Narrated well

Heart wrenching fabulousness

An epic story, beautifully narrated. I suffered through every twist, turn and squeeze, but came out appreciative of my own ‘greats’ at the end. Lovely.
