Story
Milo. Unusual. Quirky. Different. I’ve heard it all. I’ve accepted I’m not for everyone. When I find out I inherited a bookstore and apartment on a small East Coast island, I jump at the chance for a new life. Turns out I’ve also inherited a sexy, tattooed guy who not only rents the space next to my store but my apartment too. Gideon. I wasn’t looking for a roommate, but it’s not like I can stay at Milo’s place while he’s banished to a hotel. According to Milo, we’re bestie goals. And if he doesn’t wear pants at home, who am I to complain?

Story
When they were at uni, Owen always had a bit of a crush on Nathan. But Nathan was apparently straight, and Owen was too busy with other guys to take his crush seriously. When Nathan moves back to Bristol after a year away, Owen hears that Nathan has come out of the closet, and he propositions him. Nathan doesn't want to be just another notch on Owen's bedpost, though, so he challenges Owen to prove he can be serious: five dates before they have sex.

Meeting Liam, who acts as if getting hurt isn’t a foregone conclusion, shakes Joel to the core.

When it comes to hockey, I'm all about the game. I've worked for years to be one of the best in the league, and l've done it without splashing my orientation all over the tabloids. My hockey image is one I've carefully cultivated, and after one night with Ezra Palaszczuk, I risk it all. He's cocky, obnoxious, and has an ego bigger than Massachusetts. And okay, maybe he's the sexiest man I've ever known. We'll never get along. Not when we sleep together. Not even when my possessive streak awakens. That doesn't stop us from falling into bed together over and over again.

Malachi expects it to be tedious and boring, but instead discovers a warehouse with a quirky bunch of misfit co-workers, including a stoic and nerdy boss, Julian Pollard. Summary
When a professional relationship turns personal, it's impossible to resist the law of attraction.
Alec Rowland is a high-flying lawyer in a London firm, whose career is his life. He doesn't have time for relationships, and his sexuality is a closely guarded secret. After picking up a cute guy on a Friday night, Alec's world is rocked to its foundations when his one night stand shows up in the office on Monday morning - as the new temp on his team.
Ed Piper is desperate to prove himself in his new job. The last thing he needs is to be distracted by a crush on his boss. It's hard to ignore the attraction he feels, even though Alec's a difficult bastard to work for. Both men strive to maintain a professional relationship, but tempers fray, passions ignite, and soon they're both falling hard and fast.
If they're ever going to find a way to be together, Alec needs to be honest about who he really is, because Ed won't go back in the closet for anyone.

A very enjoyable audiobook
Story - Another winner featuring all the hallmarks of a wonderful story from Jay. Well written and easy to read, this is a definite page-turner with fabulously hot sex scenes, sizzling chemistry, along with sexual tension between Alec and Ed. I loved it and them together. Their interaction felt real as did the awkward situation they found themselves in. I loved the low angst and the uncertainty over their relationship status as they dealt with their feelings and the difficulty caused by Alec having wedged himself firmly in the closet.
Audio version - A very enjoyable and professional performance from Matthew. His voice and intonation give the main characters a mature edge. I loved his Scottish chamber maids and the other female accents.

Loved this!
This was a great story - brought to life really well in the audiobook. I had already read the book so was keen to get the audio - the characterisation of Ed was spot on for me and although initially my version of Alec wasn't quite as poshly spoken in my head as the narrator, it works really well. The story flowed as it was easy to relate to which character was speaking and the MCs relationship came across as real and earned.
Great audio version of a great book.

My new fave for a rainy day!
This books hits all my fluff and sap buttons. And I love it! Bossy and cheeky and low angst and hot sex! When you want a HEA, light listen, this is it. It's not an insta-love story but almost. Just enough angst to carry the story and thank gawd there is no "miscommunication" story line. (I am so over those!) There are no real surprises in this story, but I fell in love with Ed and Alec and their banter. After my 3rd listen, I bought the book.
For once we have a strong bottom who believes in himself and isn't willing to settle for less. And a strong top who needs someone to lean on. This has become my favorite rainy day read.
The narrator does a pretty good job. There were a couple of times I wasn't sure which character was speaking, but easy enough to figure out.
Any book that can make me laugh and get me hot is a winner for me.

Not interesting. Not cute.
The WORST thing about this story is the narrator. There's a Spanish character and I swear he makes her sound like a cheap vampire. It's horrible.
The story is just, super cliche. They both have lady best friends that know ALL their secrets whom they gush to and giggle with and-just shoot me. This was a struggle to finish. And don't get me started on spiders. From start to finish there was just nothing original about this.
The writing isn't bad, but since the author never takes us through anything lawyer-y I wonder why that career was chosen for the characters, except maybe for the title. It's just lazy writing.
Would not recommend. Frustrated I wasted money on it.

The plot was brilliant from the beginning. Unforeseen adventure at every turn. unforseen realization around every corner till that one moment of instant realization that took hold. very well written and narrated. With how HOT some of the scenes was so could the performances. Hence the 4 ☆ I gave for performance........

Matthew Lloyd Davies is one of my favorite British narrators and he did a great job on this book. I had already previously read the book and given it 5 stars. I enjoyed the development of Ed and Alec's relationship. I loved how strong Ed was to hold to his convictions and was proud of how Alec was able to overcome his past in order to embrace his future with Ed. This was an overall wonderful book and audiobook and I recommend them both!

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
If the narrator did not sound so posh and nasally, I would have enjoyed the story more.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Law of Attraction?
Date night in Edinburgh.
What didn’t you like about Matthew Lloyd Davies’s performance?
His voice was nasally and he made the characters sound old and unsexy.

Love this story and great narration too!
Alec picks up Ed in a bar and the two have super hot sex but Alec is in the closet and gives Ed the brush off in the morning.
Neither man can forget the other, but are both shocked when they find out they are now boss/employee – at least temporarily.
They manage to keep their hands off one another for weeks – mostly because Ed is out and proud and never agrees to being a dirty little secret. The enforced abstinence has the effect of both making Ed a friend and allows him to also prove himself as an up and coming lawyer.
When the two finally get “forced” together on a business trip the sexual tension has to be relieved. It’s then that Alec finally admits he may have to make a life changing decision – risk his life, his family, his career or lose Ed forever.
**
Jay is just one of those writers who happens to put pen to paper and magic flows. This is another flawless, seamless story of two men who meet and though they are instantly attracted, slowly build up to a realistic friendship and then love.
The chemistry is amazing and the sexual tension is very well played. Though I thought Alec was a dick at first, we quickly find reasons to empathize with him. I give HUGE kudos to Ed who stuck by his guns and not ONE time did he agree to go back in the closet for Alec. That was awesome.
I really loved this and appreciated that the biggest issue in the story was not something external but a deep internal struggle, most of all.
Highly recommended to fans of Jay and to anyone looking for a good OFY story with interesting characters and a scorching chemistry.
Audio
Matthew Lloyd Davies does a lot of Jay’s books and he’s wonderful. He has a delightful accent and really did a great job with the emotion in this. The smexy times were extra emotional and he conveyed that effortlessly. I really feel deeply immersed in the story when I listen to his narrations. Highly Recommended.
