Summary

The conclusion of the Amazon and Audible best-selling Halfhero series.

When The Deterrent comes out of hiding and kidnaps the titans, it triggers the biggest manhunt in history. On one side, the military might of the United States and Air Commodore Fiona Bardock, Britain’s most talented investigator. On the other, three halfheroes, one human and a puddle of slime.

Daniel Harbin hopes to get through this alive and track down the children he never knew existed. What no one realises is they’re about to confront the greatest danger of all.

Great Story - Brilliant

Fast paced and great story. Some of the twists and turns I guessed and some caught me by surprise, which is the mark of good story telling. I listened to the whole thing in a day, and I wasn’t disappointed.

Very satisfying feel good ending

Very satisfying feel good ending. I felt mixed about the middle books of this series but this final book brings everything together brilliantly

It was alright

A little predictable but still a tidy conclusion to the series.

I really enjoyed all three books and you will too. the only thing I can't make sense of is the inexplicable timing of the old man's decision to leave his cave and meddle with things

Whatever the answer though happy listening

Perfect Conclusion

I loved the whole series, and this one especially.
But the very last two lines make it beyond amazing.

This is a suitable finale to a wonderful trilogy

Half Hero's is one of the best and quirkiest series I've encountered so far. Clever, funny, beautifully written, and read.

Enjoyable superhero romp

Not the best of endings to the trilogy which started with such promise - but endings have always been difficult, both in terms of originality and satisfaction.

Utterly incredible

As ever Ian W Sainsbury delivers an incredible finale to the trilogy half heroes books. If only what happens in the latter stages of the book was a reality.
This has been one of my favourite series of books of all time and I recommend it highly. Superbly written, wonderful characters and a glorious read.

Cheesy but I love it.

Throughout the first two books in this series I had the same conflicting feelings; on one hand I found the quality of the writing to be patchy but on the other hand, I just loved the story. There are many ideas borrowed from other sci-fi and superhero stories, so don't expect anything you have not encountered before if you are an avid reader of those genres. Still, those concepts are put together in a satisfying way that builds tension and resolves in a pleasing manner. Similarly, there are aspects of each character which feel generic yet I still found myself rooting for the good guys throughout. The narration also feels a little underwhelming in places but soon becomes familiar and reassuring. Technically the Halfhero series is flawed but, from an entertainment standpoint, it did its job well and I'm sad to reach the end. Overall, I think that's all that really matters.
