The best-selling post-apocalyptic epic adventure the Last Survivors - the complete series of six audiobooks in one bundle.
Survival in man’s second Dark Age.
Three hundred years after the fall of society, the last fragments of civilization are clinging to life, living in the ruins of the ancient cities in medieval conditions. Technology has been reduced to legend, monsters roam the forests, and fear reigns supreme. But that is just the beginning.
The wind-borne spores are spreading, disfiguring men and twisting their minds, turning them into creatures who threaten to destroy the townships. Among the townsfolk, political and the religious, dissension is spreading. Through it all, a mother must protect her son.
The complete six-audiobook Last Survivors series.
©2019 Ancient City Publishing, LLC (P)2019 Ancient City Publishing, LLCThough this sounds like a typical zombie plot it is not. The story line has more in common with a political power plot and the difference between good and bad and between men and women. What I found difficult to accept was how much humanity declined in 300 years, with the majority of the people being so ignorant - unable to read or write, with no knowledge of the past or having any major skills - it is nearly as if society has reverted to a stone/early iron age.
The authors open up quite a few interesting plot lines. These could have been developed much further by replacing a lot of unnecessary storyline which I thought was rather over long in places.
But apart from the overlong prose, this series does have a lot going for it and does provide enough to be worth reading and is a reasonable standard story for its genre with a few novel plot lines to provide a diversion on a wet summers day.
A good effort though had room for improvement
