Enjoyable ........................................

I have enjoyed all three of these books. Narrator was very good reader and the way she could change her voice to each character.

A good epic story but final instalment a bit rushed

I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to this audio book trilogy and will probably listen to again. However I have to say that this final one felt a little rushed and predictable in the end. It felt as though the author was trying to tie up the considerable amount of lose ends as quickly as possible. There were also some parts of the story that lost their depth and intensity for me, one minute something was said to be kept a secret forever and literally a couple of chapters later that same person had spilled the beans directly, it felt like the author had lost inspiration and imagination for how to tie up the lose ends in more of a story and just gave in to telling it straight so this was quite disappointing.
I stand by my earlier reviews of the other books however in that I think the story would work exceptionally well as a TV adaptation. All the way through I have likened it to Downton Abbey and can just see it playing out on the screen really well and perhaps enabling a little more substance to be built around the characters.
I would recommend this book and also have to give excellent praise to the narrator who is definitely the best I have listened to yet. There were so many characters in this book and she never failed to narrator all the different voices. They were all very distinguishable and if ever I missed who was talking I always knew anyway due to the voice. An exceptional performance and I will look out for more by this narrator!

Magical trilogy

I absolutely loved this trilogy of books. Wonderful twists & turns- magical spiritual touches. I feel like I know the Deverells well & have enjoyed watching Kitty's life unfurl & evolve through childhood into adulthood. A real treat 💛

Perfect End to the Trilogy

I just loved all three of these books about the Deveril family. This final story had me on the edge of my seat at times. I'm sad I've finished but so glad I read them. Wonderful characters and I can't praise the narrator enough for bringing them all to life. A very hard act to follow.

Absolutely fantastic

I have just listened to all three of these books in the Deverills series and I’m so sad it’s over. The narration was superb, you actually feel you knew them all. The story over the three books followed on beautifully, following the family around the world and seeing their lives unfold. You must listen to all three to appreciate this extraordinarily engaging story. I love all of Santa Montefiore books and Genevieve Swallow brings them all to life beautifully.

Bravo!

There are so many reviews for this trilogy, so I don’t think there’s anything further for me to add about the story. I purchased the first book as part of a 2 for 1 offer and found myself needing to immediately download and listen to the next 2 on the bounce, clocking up a fair few hours over these weighty tomes. There were some ropey accents throughout which is usually a big turn off for me, but the story was so engaging that I still thoroughly enjoyed it and give this sweepiest of sweeping sagas 5 stars regardless.

Downton Abbey Meets County Cork

A wonderful historical story of Ireland through the troubles. Irish and Anglo Irish- British snobbery at its finest and differences in religion causing mayhem. Twists and turns, murder, romance
In all 3 of the trilogy.
Didn’t want it to end!

Great finali ti the Deverill saga!!!!

A really good listen, loved the story but you definitely need to have listened to the Deverill trilogy to appreciate this book.
The narrator was brilliant, her variations of English, Irish & American accents were very good. Look forward to another trilogy by Santa Montefiore narrated by Genevieve Swallow!!!
