Summary

Time changes everything, even history.

After disappearing amidst a spray of bullets, antiques dealer Sarah Lester leaves behind no body, only questions. Sarah’s friends are left dealing with the aftermath of her disappearance, including an investigation into the provenance of her antiques, which threatens to crush The Old Curiosity Shop.

As Sarah struggles to reunite with her father, she continues the search for her mother, unaware the violent colonial past has followed her home, putting herself, and those she loves in danger.

From the remote shores of New Zealand, through India’s hill country stations and onto the streets of Victorian London, Sarah must decide whether family bonds are strong enough to stretch through time.

Great book 2

Book 2 builds on the foundation of book 1 and I’d say is even better. I was a bit hesitant to get stuck into this one as some comments said it was difficult to follow. But I didn’t find that at all. Actually found the twists and character link ups were what made this a great follow up. Should also mention just how brilliant the performance is from Tracey Llewelyn. Effortless switching between characters, bringing them life in great detail. Super talented. Excited to dive into to part 3 now.

The adventure continues…

Book 2 continues where Book 1 left off. We begin by the unravelling of the consequences Sarah’s forays into the past for those who live there, as well as the repercussions for those in the present day. Pacy and exciting, I would definitely recommend! Ending was slightly abrupt… I suppose I will have to immediately download book 3!

A brilliant second book.

I am loving the twists and turns of this intricately woven 'time travel' series of books.

Not as good as 1st book in series

I was a little disappointed with this book as it did not hold my attention as much as the previous.

Very confusing...

Listened to the first book in series which l thoroughly enjoyed. Found this book really hard to follow as the author expects you to remember who's who with the characters. As the story is set in three different countries in two different time zones, l had a job keeping up with the story this time. X

Disappointing

You definitely need to listen to book 1 of this trilogy as the story line is quite confusing. As with book 1, several stories, a tale in themselves, have many characters that seem not to connect with Sarah Lester and her time travel. No doubt all will be revealed in book 3.

Not as good as the first book

This is not as good as the first book. It is rather disjointed, flitting around times and characters. Difficult to follow the story in places

Time travel

I struggled with this book to keep up and follow the story line, which is a shame as I really enjoyed book one, bit long drawn out as yet still another book to go on the up side narration is spot on

Reciting

What a fabulous story. Beautifully written, twists and turns, emotional journeys, and intrigue. A very talented narrator too.
