Summary
A fearsome warrior hiding a dark secret. A runaway bride in disguise.
Rannoch Moor, Scotland, 1166
Lady Flora finds herself betrothed to Ragnall, a battle-hardened Highlander.
That same night, her father, the chieftain, is stabbed through the heart.
When Ragnall takes on the mantle of the clan's leadership, one thing seems clear: He must be the killer.
In horror, Flora flees, but, vowing revenge, concocts a plan to return in disguise.
Ragnall will never suspect a dairymaid.
And how hard can it be to milk a cow?
What she doesn't expect is to fall in love with the man who should inspire her hate.
Nor to learn he believes his runaway bride to be her father's murderer!
Before either can discover the truth, Flora is at the mercy of an unseen enemy.
In a storm of vengeance, treachery, and passion, Flora's fate, and that of all the Dalreagh clan, is sealed.
Heat Level: passionate
(Trigger warning: This story features some scenes of danger, with the heroine fighting an attempted assault)

The lady’s guide to a Highlander’s Heart
This Audible book is excellent. It tells of an arranged marriage which had Been sorted by the brides father. The child bride was not happy with this arrangement but did exactly what her Father requested . She loved her Father very much. The narration was excellent and the story was read first class. I enjoyed this book immensely and intend to listen to it again at some point. Well done Miss De Maupassant.

Book 1 of the series: Scottish love story
Lovely short story with lots of Scottish details. I really enjoyed Flora's and Ragnall's story with its elements of murder and revenge and it beautifully sets up the series of books. The little details about Scottish life such as the names of food and Hogmanay, were a interesting touch as so many authors skip these. The narrator accent was a bit heavy so I had to go back to listen again. Not keen on the additional noises such as the owl and crowd. Overall a great short listen and I look forward to the next book.

A Wondrous sojourn thru the Highlands
This story takes you right back in time, without compromising on the brutal nature of the era. A Strong h and a Honorable H. Also the start of The Ladies Guides!
Truthfully, this is my first Audio Book WITH Sound Effects and my oh my does it add to the story AND your imagination! I am hoping that more audio books will adopt this as it is really a breath of fresh air.
Kudos to the Narrator, I loved his performance.
A 5 ⭐ performance by both Author and Narrator!

Intense and Exciting Drama
The Lady's Guide to a Highlander's Heart is a hot and passion historical romance full of the heat of revenge and love with a strong plot and characters.
Gareth Davis is an excellent narrator. He is skilful at reading in character, for instance, the weaselly voice of Calder was perfect for this devious and wicked man that made my skin crawl. The intensity of the love making scene was perfectly narrated too. The roll of the Rs and the rough huskiness that Gareth Davies gives Ragnall is incredibly sexy.
There are some great tongue in cheek moments that gave me a giggle.
The writing had me completely absorbed in the world of the castle, but the addition of the music and sound effects on this audio version drew me in further, particularly the bagpipes of the Dalreagh curse.
Fabulously written and brilliantly narrated. Hot historical romance as it's best.

What an awesome listen!
When John finds out he isn’t to be the leader of the clan and that his intended is now going to marry Ragnell, He is very angry with the stepfather. Florence was supposed to marry her step brother John and he was to lead their family upon the death of her father, but with the change of plans on the night of her and regnalds hand fasting her father is murdered in Florence thinking Ragnell the murderer runs away. Only to come back to skies as a milkmaid so she can snoop around to find out if he is the murderer or not. This is one to find out he thinks heard the murderer, but eventually both of them will find out the enemy of her father is there anime as well. This book was so good I love this book it has been a while since I read it but wanted to write a review after seeing the second book in the theories was out. I love this book and can’t wait to read the next one. I highly recommend this book with a great narrator in a great plot this isn’t your typical highlander romance it’s one for those with an IQ. So if you love romance with drama that isn’t as predictable as a cookie cutter highlander romances this is the book for you it’s awesome!
