Good audio version of intro to basics

Basic overview of hermetic principles, in a clear, if somewhat slow, audio version. Listened at 1.6 speed for the most part, 2x in places, thx Audible. Will likely relisten from time to time. Nothing wrong with the principles themselves, but the explanations can be improved and updated.

Not the actual Kybalion

This book is more like a high school research paper on the Kybalion than presenting the actual teachings. It is much more interested in appearing intellectual than being truthful. At a lot of points it seemed like building a cult by saying things like "this is the deepest truth" "no other system comes close" "by reading this book you're already so smart and great." was quite disappointed by this. The Complete Works of Swami Vivekananda is a much more in-depth and we'll put together presentation of these ideas.

wisdom that still applies today!

I sort of stumbled upon this book and didn't know anything about it before I listen to it. it is an amazing book with ancient old wisdom that can still be applied to everyday Life in the 21st century and beyond.

The pre historic metaphysical text well explained

Narrator sounded early 20th century which, with his commentary and explanations, lent itself well to the presentation.

The Kaballah made accessible and understandable

This version of the Kaballah seamlessly wove language from the original book into this updated version. It felt like you were listening to a literal translation of the original tome. An exciting exception to this was when the author talked about current scientific theories and "discoveries" that were already being discussed in the original book. Loved it. Didn't want it to end!
