Summary

Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr, along with many others, have referred to the influence that this work, written by Leo Tolstoy, has had on their psyche, and subsequent permanent change in their state of mind. The selected excerpt, from this much larger writing, reveal Tolstoy's philosophy regarding the literal interpretation of Christ's teachings and his fundamental ideas on nonviolent resistance.

Informative

This is relative to my own point of view. Glad to hear it coming through my speakers. There's hope for us all outside of worldly religions. 💫

Hmmm....

Good (but pretty dry) spiritual reflections, but also some very harsh words against Church and Religion, with which I personally very much disagree. You probably won't miss much if you don't listen to this book.

Although, interested in the topic...

still struggled to understand the concept being conveyed by the author of the book.

challenging and dense

loved it. hard to follow, but that is what rewind is for. I agree with the majority of what he has said, some of which I've heard in others like c.s.lewis and answers to conundrums I've had myself

Amazing. Profound.

One of the most prolific and renowned authors in the world. Tolstoy. And who knew, he had an awakening moment, he came to this realization later on that the Christian faith, in reality, has little if anything to do with "Churches".
