Story
A series of unsolved murders with one thing in common: each of the deaths bears an eerie resemblance to the crimes depicted in classic mystery novels. The deaths lead FBI Agent Gwen Mulvey to mystery bookshop Old Devils. Owner Malcolm Kershaw had once posted online an article titled 'My Eight Favourite Murders,' and there seems to be a deadly link between the deaths and his list - which includes Agatha Christie's The ABC Murders, Patricia Highsmith's Strangers on a Train and Donna Tartt's The Secret History.

Summary
'Hello there.' I looked at the pale, freckled hand on the back of the empty bar seat next to me in the business class lounge of Heathrow Airport, then up into the stranger's face. 'Do I know you?'
Delayed in London, Ted Severson meets a woman at the airport bar. Over cocktails they tell each other rather more than they should, and a dark plan is hatched - but is either of them being serious? Could they actually go through with it? And if they did, what would be their chances of getting away with it?

Morally confused but trashily gripping.
From the outset the characters are morally confused and off-kilter but this does not entirely detract from the stories gripping enjoyment. For anyone looking for a trashy thriller then this is for you. It's fast paced and feels akin to a Nora Roberts novel.

Best book I've heard so far
This is a brilliant story, twists and turns and the ultimate twist right at the end!!! I couldn't stop listening! Performances were good too again some of the best I've heard so far- it does help having more than one narrator. Genius :-)

Good story - typically American finish
I enjoyed the style and plotting if this story. My only real disappointment was that I anticipated an ending that would have taken this beyond the standard crime novel - but instead it hurriedly degenerated into a more formulaic denouement. My assumption, perhaps even my hope, is that this came at the insistence of a "safety-first" publisher. At least then I can believe that the author's future may hold something more satisfying.

Spoiled by poor editing...
What did you like best about The Kind Worth Killing? What did you like least?
A reasonably decent trashy novel to pass the hours... some poor narration.
How could the performance have been better?
Speed of some of the narration... made... me .... want to go.... to... sleep.... zzzzz
If this book were a film would you go see it?
No... as I know the ending.
Any additional comments?
Not sure who edited the book, but there were lots of cracking errors.
Such as... 'She crossed her legs, the robe fell away from her legs.'
I found myself silently correcting grammatical mistakes as I listened.

The female narrator for Lily ruined the book
The book is great...story is captivating but the narrator for Lily ruined the entire experience. She had a robotic way of speaking and pronouncing every H is words that start with Wh, which was really annoying to...worth a read but not this version
