They have been judged. The verdict—guilty. The sentence—death.

Two beautiful young women are found strangled, their bodies meticulously washed and groomed. The only thing they have in common: Both worked as reporters for local TV stations.

A coincidence? Or something more sinister?

Rookie Special Agent Shannon Ames is assigned to the case and soon impresses with her brilliant intuition and startling ability to think outside the box. But as Shannon takes a more prominent role in the investigation, she finds herself drawn into a deadly dance with a master of deception, a serial killer whose victims all work in media—journalists, influencers, reporters.

Shannon’s superiors are convinced it’s part of some grand attack on the free press, but she has a hunch these killings are much more targeted. And she follows that hunch straight into the heart of darkness....

Into Darkness is a gripping mystery thriller that will keep you up all night as it races toward its shocking conclusion. Perfect for fans of David Baldacci, Robert Dugoni, and Lisa Regan.

The story is nice and easy to follow, but nothing new. I was not very happy with the narrator reading which I found a bit too dramatic for my taste. It a fairly short book that can be listed on down times, but I don’t think I would have been happy using a credit to listen to it.

Entertaining

I listened to all of the book, but in honesty thought it was a little boring. It did not leave me wanting more between sessions like other books and it was more of a chore to finish. I was hoping it would get better, but it did not. Started weak and ended weak.

Average and a little bit boring

The Killing Time by T.J. Brearton is a gripping mystery thriller that follows rookie Special Agent Shannon Ames as she investigates a series of murders targeting media workers. The book is fast-paced, well-written, and full of twists and turns that keep you guessing until the end. The characters are realistic and engaging, especially Shannon, who is smart, brave, and determined to catch the killer. The narration by Bailey Carr is excellent, bringing the story to life with different voices and emotions. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good crime thriller with a strong female protagonist.
