About this listen

Get hooked on Heck: the maverick detective who knows no boundaries. The perfect read for fans of Stuart Macbride and Luther.

DS Mark ‘Heck’ Heckenburg is used to bloodbaths. But nothing can prepare him for this.

Heck’s most dangerous case to date is open again. Two years ago, countless victims were found dead – massacred at the hands of Britain’s most terrifying gang.

When brutal murders start happening across the country, it’s clear the gang is at work again. Their victims are killed in cold blood, in broad daylight, and by any means necessary. And Heck knows it won’t be long before they come for him.

Brace yourself as you turn the pages of a living nightmare. Welcome to The Killing Club.

“Edge-of-the-seat reading…Heck is formidable – a British Alex Cross.” THE SUN

“Wonderfully dark and peppered with grim humour. Finch is a born storyteller and writes with the authentic voice of the ex-copper he is.” PETER JAMES

"An ingenious and original plot. Compulsive reading.” RACHEL ABBOTT

“A deliciously twisted and fiendish set of murders and a great pairing of detectives.” STAV SHEREZ

“Avon’s big star…part edge-of-the-seat, part hide-behind-the-sofa! An excellent series.” THE BOOKSELLER

Reading the Heck series is like watching a Chris Nolan film - so much action. Seriously, I'm not sure how the author keeps up the pace and the variety of the chase & fight sequences.
Love Heck!

Another great Heckenburg story if a little ' far fetched ' in places. On to the next one!

This is gory and nasty in parts - but if that’s your thing you’ll like it. Run of the mill misunderstood, troubled, maverick detective - but it’s well written for its type and stuffed full of action. Lots of twists and jump scares.

Narration is absolutely first class - women’s voices a bit wobbly in places but it’s tough to get everything right. Otherwise as good a reading as you could imagine.

Top brutal action book - you either like it a lot or not.

Another great Paul Finch book
