It was a wartime white wedding but it was not a love match. Annie Cooper married George McCabe for one reason only: she was expecting his child. I love Catherine Cookson stories they just never let you down and this one make you laugh and cry absolutely a wonderful story the voice telling the story fits so well my mum loved Catherine Cookson as well so very moving story 📕

My favourite Catherine Cookson so far. I couldn’t stop listening. The characters came to life in Anne Dovers voice. She’s the best narrator of the Cookson audibles
