Summary

"You do not have to be a deeply spiritual person to understand what the human element is, or how it applies to you, or what you are supposed to do with this book once you read it."

This is the story of becoming, the process of actualization that we all go through, especially when we are most unaware that it's happening. Written with striking familiarity and uncanny understanding, this audiobook will open your heart and touch your soul by putting into words the things that are both deeply rooted and hidden in us that we miss them even when they are most transparent. The human element is the thing that binds us, the thing we have to overcome, how we have to stop standing in our own way and let everything unfold. It is a philosophical take on what it means to overcome humanness by acceptance, initially realized through the experiences of sleep paralysis and other awakenings.

Very Jungian

This was a very enjoyable experience and contained many Jungian ideas that were re-packaged to be more digestible. Felt like a more feminine and spiritual version of 12 Rules For Life.

Profound book

The human element is narrated by the writer itself and this deepens it's profound. For me is a book I have to re-listen or read because it has a lot of inner life messages that need to stay on me. She talks about the "awareness" of moments and knowledge and how sometimes being ignorant of something in X time of your life is how it should be so you would achieve your purpose in life, and that we don't know this purpose.

I totally recommend this book, is short, easy to listen but you need to pay attention.

One of the best books I’ve read

I say this with one caveat, you have to be ready for this book. Brianna Wiest is a modern version of the ancient stoics, a deep thinker who is wise beyond her years, and I would not have been able to appreciate her work without having done loads of self-improvement before. Like exploring the depths of the ocean, you need to prepare before you can spend time in the waters of her words. If you are already a fan of her other work, you will love The Human Element.

Enlightening

Truly a humbling and enlightening work. Brianna captures and expounds on the human experience in such an authentic and genuine way that you can’t help feel compelled to listen, then compelled internalize into practice each one of her salient points.
