This is a fantastic best friend’s father, small town, romantic suspense book. Silas is hired to kill Vaughn for what is supposed to be his last job because he wants out of the hitman life. We are treated to a great romance between two men who just can’t resist each other even though they know they should. While the heat between them sizzles, Silas has to find out who hired him to kill Vaughn so he can get the contract canceled. Alexander Cendese did a great job performing this audiobook.

We still have a small-town setting, but – at least in this firs book, as well as the prologue novella – we have a decidedly more adventurous vibe.

Murder threats, lies ad secrets, but still with the usual Ana Ashley vibrant writing style.

This is a best friend’s dad story, and Silas and Vaughn try to fight their attraction they have felt for each other for years, but forced proximity and finally acknowledging the draw, make it impossible to ignore it for long.

Loved Alexander Cendese’s performance.
