Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend all of the Amelia Peabody series. As with the rest of the series, this story is engaging with twists and turns and the attention to historical detail is superb!

What does Barbara Rosenblat bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Barbara Rosenblat IS Amelia Peobody. It's hard to believe that she is the only one reading the book.

Highly entertaining as always

I could listen to Barbara Rosenblat reading these books all day, she is excellent. In this one we meet David for the first time, while Ramsey and Nefret bicker constantly, much like their elders. I am getting to like Kevin O'Connell very much, he's involved here in a splendidly gung-ho rescue. The cat Bastet proves how invaluable she is too.

Amelia Peabody in splendid form

Nobody records better audiobooks than Barbara Rosenblat. Nobody. It is impossible to imagine a more perfect rendering of the text - and this is true of all the Peabody books. She brings a wide array of wildly different characters compellingly to life - from small children to elderly gentlemen, and with every accent under the sun. I am all amazement and envy in regard to her talents.

Flawless

Barbara Rosenblat's narration, combined with a witty, amusing & intriguing mystery, has once again had me laughing & looking forward to getting into bed to listen and be charmed. Her turn of phrase is on occasion simply superb & the plots of these stories keep me engaged start to finish. If you've not come across this author before think something a little like Poirot, but with a kick-ass female lead & more tongue in cheek & humourous, a *little* romance, and... Egypt, always Egypt - mummies & tomb robbers galore. Great fun if you just want a bit of light hearted escape, but with a decent enough plot to keep one interested. Cant wait to get the next book
