Summary

A lazy and wussy ex-gamer, Phil becomes one of the few humans who receive a mysterious alien piece of wetware that allows them to see the world through an augmented-reality interface very similar to those used in an MMORPG game. Guided by its stats and messages, Phil begins to level up, gradually transforming himself and his life. He even opens his own business in order to help his friends and complete strangers who acquire a newfound respect for him, assisting him in his travails.

As Phil continues on the road to self-improvement, guided by his own conscience rather than system messages, he tries to find out more about the mysterious third party that has bestowed such superhuman abilities upon him.

Love this series

This is probably my favorite Russian litrpg series so far. But entertaining and motivating. Well worth the credit.

Great book

I think this book was great a unique blending of multiple concepts, it also makes you look at character development and personal development differently. The only problem I had with this book was the translation, I felt like some of the words that were used may have been translated incorrectly or they used a version or meaning that did not fit the sentence that it was being used in at the time. I think that due to this, it didn't allow for a 100% translation nor did it convey what the author was trying to impart to the Listener. Apart from that it was a great book and concept. I'm looking forward to the next one in the series.

it really shouldn't be as entertaining as it is

Somehow it's a very compelling story despite the fact that it's mostly about normal life.

Great book - the story continues

Overall an interesting story, a bit broken up and jumpy in directions but it works. I feel I want more after reading it.

The concept is fresh (for me) and makes you think about yourself and your own choices you have made. Kind of clever in that regard.

The only problem I have with the series is the translation, the narration between the characters feels unrealistic at times and lots of things must have been scrambled when translated. Many figure of speach / similes sound weird and unrealistic in that situation. I had to google a few of them to see if they existed at all. I you forgive that part, the book is excellent and actually pretty cute in that regard.

very boring

Author seems to have be socially inept and some of the situations that the MC finds himself and his reaction is not very realistic and the MC does not stand up for himself. It was very frustrating. Not your typical LITrpg book.

Good continuance from 1st book

Good story,.. left me wanting more. Author creative as he develops Phil and friends, while getting them into and out of some realistic situations.

An interesting story with a likeable MC

This is a pretty good series. The main character doesn't come of as a moron, the author avoids internally inconsistent explanations of world mechanics. Definitely worth a listen if you enjoy LitRPG and prefer to avoid harum stories.
