Not your typical paranormal romance

This is an interesting story that blends reality with paranormal fantasy. This world has werewolves that serve a particular purpose in society that require them to be a part of the political framework. The story also involves the paranoia often found in society that includes something that people do not properly understand. The contrast is interesting. That said, while there are werewolves, the basis of the story involves a much more basic form of reality.

Ava Sparks is an assasin and she and her family targets werewolves. They are part of the resistance and their goal is to protect the human race. The story starts with her succeasfully shooting a senator but getting hit by a car in the attempt to escape the ensuing mass hysteria. She is saved by a mystery man and taken to the hospital.

Six months later that mystery man shows up on the top of her hit list and Ava's world slowly unravels at the seams. That which she thought was true turns out to be false and her entire existance is brought to question. All this happens while she falls for her mystery werewolf.

The idea of this book is interesting. The readers are guaranteed a HEA, sex, action, and so on, but there is a lot more to it. Over all, I enjoyed the story and would be curious about what happens next in the series.

Awesome book!

What made the experience of listening to The HOT Wolf the most enjoyable?

At first i didn't think i was going to like the book. the whole political background stuff has been soooo overused this last year, but i was very very pleasantly surprised that although it was a little political it wasn't all about that and had many many different facets.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The HOT Wolf?

The ending for sure!!! the whole last hour of the book.

What about Meghan Kelly’s performance did you like?

I thought she did great with voices and with getting the emotional point across without being overdone

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I cried!!

Any additional comments?

Great narrator, bad book.

Okay, so truth be told. I actually couldn't finish this book. Meghan Kelly was a great narrator, who kept my interest in the book for a whole three chapters longer than I would have otherwise.

I have some fundamental problems with this book and series.

1. The book is written with a heavy hand, and while it's not the narrator's fault since she's just reading what was written. A lot of the time there is "She did not go to the house." instead of "She didn't go to the house." It just sounds a lot more awkward.

2. One of my favorite lines from the book goes a little something like this. "Why are you killing the wolves?" the female protagonist replies. "You don't understand, the wolves are set to take Congress and then take over the whole human race!" I didn't like how everything was spelled out for you before even being teased, just a little.

Overall the story was dull, it didn't even get into anything saucy and the writing was too clunky
Meghan Kelly saved the book by her likable voice, and she felt like she could have been a friend.

Don't mess with Ava

I was torn on this one. I am a paranormal girl all the way. I love shifter stories. This one was a little different for me. I had a hard time getting into this one and it was no fault of the narration. I like the story line but I feel like the fact it was about werewolves was not important to the story line. Ava was raised to hate werewolves and was trained to kill them for a radical group. In the course of events, she comes to see that she has been brainwashed and they are not the evil she once thought them to be. The part of the book that I really liked came later. For the 2nd half of the book, I added a star to the story line. My eyes literally welled up which rarely happens so- thanks for that.

I liked the book- It just felt like I would have liked more wolf-y in it. it felt like a side thought.

Narration was great~ Overall was great. This was a small thing in the general scheme of things. I enjoyed it enough to read the next in the series :)

Note: I received this book in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion. It in no way affected my opinion of the book.

AN OKAY FIRST IN A SERIES.

I was provided this audiobook through Audiobook Boom at no charge by the narrator in exchange for an unbiased review.

Realistically, it's darn hard to write a truly good book that's narrated in under 6 hours. There's a massive background that's rushed through about Ava and most of it is toward the ending. As far as Chase goes, there's virtually no background revealed other than his parents death. Their relationship begins with a life-saving rescue then separation with neither knowing the other's identity. When they later meet under suspicious circumstances and recognize their past connection, they fall prey to the incredulity of finding one another again. Then the instal-love, quick change of view, self sacrifice... and all the "insta" stuff that a short book needs.

The storyline is very cool. An updated view on the Werewolf culture. They're the good guys saving the world. There were no vampire characters, but this is Book One. So far revealed, Werewolves are keeping humankind safe from the evil Vampires.

Meghan Kelly does a good job in voice variations. She's consistent in keeping the male voices a lower tone.

ONE THUMB UP!

Good!

This isn't my typical genre but I though thought the cover of this one was hot so I wanted to give it a chance and I'm glad I did. Unique characters and interesting story - I really enjoyed this one. Great narration. I can't wait to check out book 2

Good read 👍🏽

I don't usually read this genre , but I must say I truly enjoyed it. It has a little bit of everything to keep you reading or in my case listening (audio). I will be looking forward to more of Ellie Valentina's books. The narrator Meghan Kelly did an excellent job.

Thin line between love and hate

Ava is a great strong female character with a huge growth in the story. I appreciate that she starts to question what side she has been fighting for. I also really like that she takes accountability for her past indiscretions and strives for the truth of why she did what she did. I enjoyed the final meeting at the end with Ava's "parents" and she gets the justice she well deserves.

Shifters galore

Wowsers, wonderful love it.
This narrator has a very distinctive voice. She sounds like a softer Marge Simpson. I love listing to her.
