Careful what you look for. Careful what you find.

After the mysterious death of her beloved sister, Tess is grief-stricken and lonely. She's forced to BnB Rosie's old room to pay the bills.

With strangers in her home, Tess discovers a distraction: their possessions.

Tempted into the room while they're out, she goes through her guests' things, imagining the stories they hold. These forbidden glimpses into their lives and the chance of being caught are a momentary thrill – the only thing she can feel through the numbing pain of her loss, and the so-far fruitless police investigation.

When handsome and inscrutable Arran takes the room, Tess finds his diary. The entries are about an unnamed woman. Crush or obsession? Slowly, his writing takes a darker tone, and Tess can't stop reading.

In her compulsion to know, to uncover the truth, there's something Tess fails to notice.

She's being watched.

Everyone has their secrets. This one is closer to home.

That said the narration really saved the book.
I don’t like guessing storylines, I’m happier going with the flow. But this dragged on and the plot was thin.
Tbh I was pleased to get to the end.

Slow and predictable

Really enjoyed this audio book. Full of mystery, as Tess tries to uncover the truth about her sister's death. Gripping throughout and superbly narrated!

Full of dark secrets and intrigue. Lots of twists

The main character in this book is most annoying and irritating and there were times I wanted to climb into the pages of the book and shake her. I think that’s the sign of a skilled writer. All in all, a great storyline with a completely unexpected ending.
Would highly recommend this author and the narrator is great.

Slow start, but quickly gathers pace!

This book didn’t engage me at all. All of the characters are unlikeable and the story is repetitive and very stretched out. Rare for me to not finish a book but this was one of the few times I have given up.

Repetitive and quite boring
