Well written and can only applaud the author but not for me

It was a little too raw for me , Avery good book but just too disturbing g for me it reminded me of when I first read Lord of the Flues in my teens worthwhile but too disturbing for night time reading .

Engrossing....

1. If you could sum up ‘The Guest List’ in 3 words, what would they be?

Exciting, smooth and (disappointingly) transparent.

2. How credible/believable did you find the narrator/s to be?

I think the female narration surpassed the male - however, overall it was outstanding. I in especially liked Olivia’s voice, it was very soothing. On the other hand, I found Duncan’s voice extremely grating.

3. Any additional comments:

I was sincerely engrossed at times, especially during the last 2/3 hours. The chapters were often brief and the writing was easily digestible. However, I couldn’t help but feel dispirited when my suspicions (regarding the murderer) were proven correct - unlike so many others, there was no great twist for me - ‘sigh’.

I loved this book!

This was my first audio book and I loved it! Perfect for multi tasking when you don't have time to sit and read. The story was gripping and I finished it in record time. I felt sad that it had come to an end. The end seemed a bit abrupt, would have liked more story telling so the various characters got some closure.

Slightly underwhelming and some stereotypes

This got off to a good start with an unusual setting and a range of character viewpoints well portrayed by the actors.
However the final act wasn’t quite convincing. And there were a number of stereotype characters, particular “boarding school bully” which is a lazy way to write, and made worse by an accent which was also a stereotype.

Absolutely captivating story with amazing twists. I found myself listening up to 4 am, not being able to switch it off. Very well told, captivating and intriguing.

Very enjoyable!

I listened to this in 2 days. It's a great bit of escapism. The narrators are excellent. The plots a bit far fetched but overall I recommend it if you want something not too taxing that will hold your attention. I hated her first book, The Hunting Party so this was a pleasant surprise!

Ok!

The story is told from the perspective of various members of the wedding party. Most of the characters are shallow and entitled and that’s part of the story but for me I have to care about the outcomes. Even knowing that the characters had to be like that I wouldn’t have persevered had it not been for 2 or 3 I began to care about.
