Summary

Paul and Claire Craddock have grown older in years - but not in spirit. World War II is over. But there are new battles to be fought and won. The new property laws enable speculators to reap huge profits from agricultural lands, and Paul’s livelihood is threatened.

With the help of his family, Paul struggles to preserve the happiness and peace he has built up over the years. In doing so, he comes to discover deeper, richer ties with those around him....

Fantastic

The third and last book in the family saga. All were wonderful read in a class of their own. A audible must

End of a saga

This was always my least favourite, probably because it was coming up to a modern time, and some of the characters weren't as likeable as the originals. However, it is a good bridge from the Edwardian era and between the wars, to what is more familiar today. Tears were shed - indicative of a great story which captures the heart. Excellent narration - kudos to Mr Oliver!

Absolutely brilliant

Although written quite a few years ago this is the last book in what has to be the best trilogy ever - a wonderful story, beautifully written and exceptionally read. I am sad to have finished it. More Delderfield please!
