About this listen

The Chinese government has been keeping a secret for 40 years: they have found a species of animal no one believed even existed that will amaze the world.

Now the Chinese are ready to unveil their astonishing discovery within the greatest zoo ever constructed. A small group of VIPs and journalists has been brought to the zoo deep within China to see its fabulous creatures for the first time.

Among them is Dr. Cassandra Jane 'CJ' Cameron, a writer for National Geographic and an expert on reptiles. The visitors are assured by their Chinese hosts that they will marvel at these beasts, that they are perfectly safe, that nothing can go wrong....

I say basically Jurassic park with dragons but I did enjoy this one as a book I could turn on and off without paying to much attention to.

Well written and read the book but listening to it is really hard work. I wish I was able to listen to it more often.

Good story but woodenly delivered.

An absolutely brilliant read from start to finish. Matthew Reilly is a an absolute genius of a storyteller.

I'm a fan of fast paced action and I've listened to a few of his books. Whilst the story is imaginative and filled with exciting chapters I was becoming agitated by his very simple use of description. A view of the area of the zoo was described as just "magnificent" or one of the creatures was simply "enormous" with not much else to fill my imagination with.

Just my opinion
