It’s no secret that The Good Uncle is my fav Deathly book so far, I shout about it all the time, so when she told me an audio version was in the works I said sign me up straight away! It’s a privilege to re-read/listen to it & I was as excited for it this time, as I was the first!
Lucas is brought up in an abusive household with the worst kind of foster parents. The mum goes as far as sexualising him & making him do things he really shouldn’t have to do to a mother, the torture he endures is unreal.
The whole family arrangement is off though, the fact that Lucas is besotted with his sister Darlene kinda says it all! It’s this that gets him into trouble & changes his life forever. After he rage kills her partner (and wears his face like a mask), his foster parents decide he needs to be punished. Restrained, stabbed & part of a ritual, he sees himself die in the worse way!
Despite this he wakes up the next day, stab wounds healed & full of rage! He’s been cursed but the devil has offered him a way out…Lucas accepts these changes without a second thought, despite the bloodshed and terms of it & my days is there a lot of 🩸
Yep I still love it!! This story is wild!! My outline of the plot does not do it justice 😭The amount of unhinged moments that leave you open mouthed is crazy, like ohhh did she really put that in there 😱😂 Also listening to this had me laughing out loud at Lucas’s Inner monologue, as did the demons. Some witty comments that you can’t help but laugh at in there 😅 The narration was perfect for Lucas’s character too 👌🏻
I recommend this a thousand percent always, whether you listen to it or read it, you NEED it in your life! So go & download it ( it’s also on KU) & thank me later ☺️
