About this listen

Some lines should never be crossed.

Police corruption, an investigation that ends in tragedy and the mystery of a little girl’s silence – three unconnected events that will prove to be linked by one small town.

While detective Cormac Reilly faces enemies at work and trouble in his personal life, garda Peter Fisher is relocated out of Galway with the threat of prosecution hanging over his head. But even that is not as terrible as having to work for his overbearing father, the local copper for the pretty seaside town of Roundstone.

For some, like Anna and her young daughter, Tilly, Roundstone is a refuge from trauma. But even this village on the edge of the sea isn’t far enough to escape from the shadows of evil men.

I enjoyed this book so much I wanted it to last forever. Unfortunately it was so great I couldn’t stop listening. It had everything I require in a book brilliant story together with a fantastic narrator.

Great book

Excellent plot which is not predictable or contrived. Characters are realistic.
Narrator is also excellent. I feel female narrators often fail with male characters but not so in these books. Highly recommend this audiobook.

A winner

A quality, modern, story, narrated superbly by Aoife McMahon - her accents are spot on, and don't grate or distract from the story. Thoroughly enjoyed this book and looking forward to the next one.

Excellent entertainment as always

The beautiful written plot unravels and intersects a story pedophile ring, national drug gangs and garda corruption. Like very much the rural Irleland atmosphere re-enacted by the author. Respect to Dervla and to Aioife to magnificently narrate the book.

Great thriller and cop conspiracy
