Summary

The Goldsmith’s Conspiracy is the final book in the best-selling Glass and Steele series. To see why readers/listeners rave about the series, start at the beginning with The Watchmaker’s Daughter.

Tensions between the artless and magicians are flaring, but India and Matt discover someone is deliberately fuelling the flames. Relentlessly pursuing his own agenda, Lord Coyle employs the former master of the Watchmaker’s Guild to make trouble and be a thorn in India’s side.

But India has the ear of the government now, and her own political influence is growing, something which pushes Lord Coyle over the edge. He plots his revenge by murdering a jeweler and casting blame onto someone very important to Matt and India. As they scramble to prove Coyle was the real killer before the accused is hanged, they learn the extent of Coyle’s influence and the true motive behind his actions.

With a problem too big to solve alone, India and Matt draw on aid from their friends. But it’s old enemies who cause the biggest crisis of all.

Excellent Series

Started this series as a bit of a chance, but thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm now looking forward to the spin off series. I want to know what happens to some of the other characters. The characters are well thought out and each one is interesting in their own right. If you enjoy mystical magical stories then I'm pretty sure you will enjoy these.

Neatly wrapped in a bow

I love how India has emerged as a strong-willed, independent, intelligent thinker. She started out as a damsel and transformed in a respectable person in both the magical and non-magical communities, while taking place in a time of history where women were thought as only an accessory or property of men.

The last two-three books I was annoyed of naive or rather too trusting India was but I’m glad by this last book in the series she found her stance.

I love the ending to the series. No open plots left for the reader to wonder. Everything came together at the end which was truly appreciated.

The narration of Marian Hussey was truly magnificent! She kept me interested in each book, even during moments of weakness and attempted abandonment of the series. Her voices of each character was distinct yet match each characters persona to the tee. I definitely would listen to more books narrated by her specifically.

Fun until the End

I enjoyed this series all the way. I will miss Matt and India. The narration was perfect. The only thing I would change is Willy's bad language.

Great ending to a great series

Not EVERY entanglement is settled but the most troublesome villains are dealt with. Im glad Archer decided to end this, as the last few weren’t very challenging. And I’m looking forward to the new series “The Glass Library”

This was the best out of all 13 books

I thought I would laugh and then get mad and yell at the characters as I did in the the first 12, and I did... but, this book had something extra special that the others did not. I don't want to give anything away but I was in tears at one point. literally sobbing. I absolutely loved it. I look forward to listening to these books again in the future as I do with all of CJ Archers books. CJ takes you on a wonderful journey and paints the pictures you see in your mind as Marian Hussey so beautifully reads them to you. Such a great union... thank you Marian and especially you CJ!!
