Summary

The Godly Man's Picture is a work of theology by the 17th century English puritan Thomas Watson. The book is divided into 12 sections, with the bulk of the text contained in the 24 subsections of the fourth section titled: ‘Showing the Characteristics of a Godly Man.’ In many instances, Watson makes a point by asking a question, followed by a series of in-depth answers.

The Godly man’s picture

This is Thomas Watson at his best. It is full of Christian encouragement and comfort. Truly consistent with the Puritan Gospel. It sets Christ before us as the One thing needful for our souls.
The narration is forced and off putting but the content is of great worth. The narrator makes many mistakes especially when providing references. A basic knowledge of Scripture allows you to understand that Epifians is actually Ephesians for example. There is a certain diction that is off putting. These faults lie with the narration not the narrative.
I highly recommend this book to my fellow Christians and encourage you to find other Puritan classics such as the ‘Bruised Reed’ or ‘Heaven taken by storm.’ Every blessing 😁

AWFUL Audio Quality

This may be a great book, BUT, I could not listen more than 2 minutes. The audio is a digital voice. It's like the producers asked someone to say each word from the dictionary then had a computer program bring up each word of the text, HORRIBLE inflection, pacing, etc. makes it totally unable to listen to.
