Ridiculous

I was drawn in by the good reviews but left stumped as to why so many people rated it so highly. I found it badly written and tedious with the same things being repeated over and over. I found no empathy with any of the characters and struggled to listen to the end.
the narration was flat and boring.
overall a waste of a credit.

Excellent storyline and well narrated. Each chapter kept me gripped throughout not wanting to put it down. I would recommend this book with a perfect twist at the end. If you like psychological thrillers you wont be disappointed.

put aside some time as you won't want to stop.....

great story, well written and narrated. a real 'can't put it down' with an excellent unexpected twist. an added feature of 2 narrators gives more depth x

An Odd Plot With a Sad Ending

I really enjoyed this book it was an unusual plot and for once I did not guess the end. I also liked the male narration it was very understated and there were no silly voices. The story really engaged the listener and the final twist was unexpected it was a book that I had to tear myself away from.

The Girl You Lost

I was captivated from start to finish and loved the plot, characterisation and the many twists and turns. It's a perfect summer read: recommended.

The narrators were excellent too and managed to convey the various different characters and accents with aplomb.

Slow to Start, but worth it

Would you listen to The Girl You Lost again? Why?

The story was exciting and unexpected. However, it did take a long time to get in to it. I almost stopped listening, but decided to push through and I am glad that I did.

Oh Snap.. Is She or isn't She The Girl You Lost?

I absolutely would recommend this book to anyone into suspense and mystery. Although the premise is tragic as losing a child is life altering- it's also dark and nerve racking. You have to choose what to believe and who to believe. There's some sketchy characters and wondering who the male narrative is keeps you guessing until the end. Definitely worth the credit, in my opinion.

Oh man... a lot of twists !!

This was pretty good- although it did contain some pretty intense scenes (rape) . It was a little hard to listen to sometimes. Good story though and great narration.

Quite good ....

This book moved along quickly. The accent wasn't too distracting - loved the male voice. Although I guessed the ending, it didn't spoil the story for me because I wasn't sure I was right until it was revealed. Creepy in parts but believable. I would recommend for soft thriller / mystery fans.

Much better than I expected

I'm not usually a big fan of stories in which an adult turns up saying they are someone who disappeared as a child. I bought this during a two for sale, and it turned out to be my favorite of the two. I won't spoil the plot, I'll just say if you like psychological mysteries, you'll love this one

What an ending!!!!

I could not stop listening to this book. Have gotten totally hooked on Kathryn Croft and, plot wise, I thought this was one of her best. But PSA- do not listen if you are squeamish, as it is quite dark and disturbing

Very predictable...

This book was kind of slow and very predictable. There are better British mysteries out there, I would skip this one. There is nothing new or intriguing here.
