Summary

Lisbeth Salander is a wanted woman. Two Millennium journalists about to expose the truth about sex trafficking in Sweden are murdered, and Salander's prints are on the weapon. Her history of unpredictable and vengeful behaviour makes her an official danger to society - but no-one can find her.

Mikael Blomkvist, Millennium magazine's legendary star reporter, does not believe the police. Using all his magazine staff and resources to prove Salander's innocence, Blomkvist also uncovers her terrible past, spent in criminally corrupt institutions. Yet Salander is more avenging angel than helpless victim. She may be an expert at staying out of sight - but she has ways of tracking down her most elusive enemies.

The Girl who played with fire

Just as compelling and fascinating as the first book of the series. Took me several days to get the characters out of my everyday head! The way it is read is so good and so descriptive. Just now making space for the third book and then I might have to go back to the beginning! Highly reccomended.

Read this before Hollywood film it

I did not see the Scandinavian films in the set because my lad turned the v box off when we went away so Film 4 series did not record...I did see the English film version of "Tattoo" which was very good. Therefore i only bought this and Hornet nest...
FAN-TAS-TIC story....thoroughly recommend it...but read or watch TATTOO first as they all link and would not make sense as individual pieces

BRILLIANT and well narrated.

The change in narrator between Book 1 (Dragon Tattoo) and this one, did NOT detract from my enjoyment. Saul Reichlin does a masterful job, with this excellent tale, and expresses the author's sentiments exactly. If you want a superb set of novels, to listen to over and over again, get this trilogy. I did, and consider it fantastic value.

Audible do a great job in bringing us superb authors, well narrated, and great value. Thanks Audible.

Riveting listen

Steig Larsson's attention to detail of all his characters is astounding and the story is gripping from the start.

A superb sequel!

Continues where Tattoo left off and then some! Read perfectly by Saul Reichlin. I want to visit Sweden!

All the thrills, let down by the plot

Unlike the first book, The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest form 2 halves of one continuous story. You won't be able to read this story on its own and be satisfied with its conclusion.

This book has the same 'page-turning' style as the first book, but is massively let down by its (literally) incredible and coincidental plot. I still couldn't stop listening, and I still enjoyed it, but I was constantly frustrated by the fantastical plot twists. It also has a pacing problem at the beginning of the book. The plot doesn't start until several hours in, and you're left wondering what the bit at the beginning was for.

Great Trilogy

I had read all the paper books, so it was fascinating having this one read to me. Such a shame that the author passed so young
