Summary

British. Charming. Virgin.

Reed Windsor doesn't do relationships. Though he could charm the pants off any girl he wants, he's not interested. He's always been too captivated by a special someone from his past to get serious with anyone else. Sure, she has no clue he exists, but he's willing to bide his time and convince her he's worth a shot.

Sassy. Beautiful. Way out of his league.

Charlie Oded is full of baggage - being left at the altar will do that to a woman. Having zero time for distractions, she's not looking for...well, anything. She needs time to heal her heart, not another guy to string her along. Which is why when she meets the alluring Reed, she's determined to keep things friendly.

But he makes her heart race and she makes him want to settle down. And neither of them wants to walk away.

Reed's never wanted a relationship, but Charlie's changed the game, and he's willing to play if she is.

Sweet and romantic...

Charley Oded was left at the altar. The heartbreak, pain and humiliation of that moment has led Charley to give up on love and to start a very successful business with her best friend and business partner. The next step is to return to college to finish her bachelor degree in business. Reed Windsor is British, charming and a senior at the same college. Unbeknownst to Charley, Reed was her neighbour when they were children. Despite the age difference (she is the older of the two) he has always been fascinated and half in love with the girl behind the red door ( the colour of her childhood home door). This story is their chance at love and healing.

I thoroughly enjoyed the sweetness of this story. Reed is beyond charming and a little hard not to like and Charley deserves that. However, if the story were that simple, it wouldn't have been half as interesting. Throw in Charley's ex, a fascinating group of friends, drama in the theatre and out of it, and Charley's very own secret admirer. There are plenty of opportunities for things to go wrong and these two lovers need to work hard to ensure their HEA.

Surprisingly entertaining

To be frank I was a little skeptical about this one, being a former soldier with several tours of duty behind me I didn't expect to be the target audience, however I was shortly proven wrong...
The characters are compelling and real, their story driving forward the plot...
Sure there are a few times it's obvious this is a little young adultish and a few decisions are rather hard to justify if you are an actual person, but overall, it was very well done...

As to the Narration, there are 2 view points which shift between chapters and when the view point shifts so does the narrator.
Both narrators does a very good job of keeping their depiction of characters as similar as possible in regards to diction, accent and similar...
Overall actually very impressive

Fun, cute, slow burn

This story had my attention from the beginning. Charlie Oded was left at the alter with no explanation appalling. So her meeting the suave, debonair Reed Windsor his impressive background and charming English accent had me hooked, as did Sarah Puckett and Steve Campbell they made a fab duet in this slow burn romance.

Tell me something real

This was a fun book. Charlie gets left at the altar and it takes her a long time to get over the hurt. She decides to go back to college and get her degree and that is when she meets Reid Windsor. He is younger than her in years but his heart is much more mature. Come to find out he has loved Charlie for years from afar. She was the girl across the road from a home he visited in the summer and now he gets to know The Girl behind the Red Door. There are fun supporting characters and lots of things that goes on in this story.

The narrator's did a great job telling this story. Their voices were believable for the characters and easy and enjoyable to listen to. I received a code from Audiobook Obsession Review Group to listen.

Charlie wants nothing to do with men. She meets Reed who has been intrigued by her since he was younger. They fall for each other until Charlie discovers Reed has been keeping secrets. Good story about romance and the path we have to take to get there. Good Narration.

Let love fix you

This is a very great audio. It’s a slow burn lobe romance. Both characters were great so opposites and at the same time both alike that they will be like a whole together. Reed and Charlie’s characters were great together.
Reed was drawn to Charlie but he doesn’t know why . Just that he seems to know her spirit.
Charlie became a independent women after a heartbreak when her fiancé dumped her right before their wedding. Charlie forged on and made a company worthy of herself and the other hurting women out there .
Once Reed and Charlie connect , and he finds out her deepest fears , Reed becomes patient with Charlie and makes her see that when she opens the door a little she is still strong and he will help her .
The love between the two is strong and powerful.

Both Sarah Puckett and Steve Campbell were great together. Love how the voices flowed great and strong and clear throughout the audio

Honey Dripping Sweet With Waffles & Whipped Cream!

The Girl Behind The Red Door is a whimsical, and witty listen with a enchanting prologue. A serendipity romantic comedy that reveals Charlie & Reed have a much older, deeper connection that began when they were children when Reed's family spent their summers across the road from the girl behind the red door. For Reed Windsor, Charlie is "The girl of his dreams". Reed's character comes with a bit of mystery. With unexpected twists brewed with supporting character's that play a intricate role as well as they mesh together. Chemistry between these characters is visible. The Supernatural references in this real life fairytale romance were joyous. A sweet piquant tale involving waffles and whipped cream.

Narrator Steve Campbell's british accent is deep, clear-cut and smooth. I love British accents and it was a fruition to listen to.
Sarah Puckett narrates this beautiful tale in a way that brings the character's and narative to reality. Together, these narrators complement each other & the tone and pace flows through smoothly.

Tell me something real...

Reed had always admired her from afar, but he knew he’d never have a chance.

Charlie had her heart broken. Now she would make it on her own, without taking the chance of getting hurt again.

When their paths cross, well, some things are just meant to be...

Cassie Graham has written a heart warming story. When you add two marvelous narrators, Sarah Puckett and Steve Campbell, you get a real treat. I highly recommend this book!

Tell me something real!

This book caught me off guard. I didn't know what I was expecting, but once I began listening, I just could not stop. Cassie Graham had me caught up in the lives of Reed and Charlie. Charlie Odet is a woman who has been hurt. Left at the alter, she has used her situation to launch a successful jewelry business. She goes back to school to complete her education and becomes wrapped up in senior, Reed Windsor. What a man, he remembers Charlie from his childhood and has had a crush on her forever. Now is his chance to really get to know her and their relationship slowly builds. This story of love, flirtation, second chances and all around good feelings will make you believe there is someone out there for you. There are definitely a few surprises, but the warmth and feelings this story evokes kept me enraptured til the very end. I loved it and will look for more by Graham.

Sarah Puckett and Steve Campbell nail this narration. Puckett has her emotional voice for this one, as we get to know and live through Charlie's struggles. I love that she can give the feels of uncertainty as well as the warmth of love in her inflections. Campbell is new to me, and I fell in love with his voice. His English accent along with his intonation and cadence sucked me in and had me in love with Reed from the first meeting. The two together are magic.

Sweet romance

Witty banter and sweet characters, made The Girl Behind the Red Door an enjoyable book to listen to. Reed and Charlie were great characters who you couldn't help but root for. Charlie's last relationship didn't end well. But Charlie turned her pain into something truly remarkable for other people. Reed makes up for all the pain Charlie went through. He's such an amazing character and I loved how much he loved Charlie. I also really loved the narrators. This was easy to listen to and the narrators really brought the characters to life. Would definitely listen to this one again.

Just WOW!!!

I'll start off with saying the start of the book had me captured. It took a bit for the pieces to fail together. But, HELLO, when Reid enters the scene I was hooked. The intrigue and mystery behind their connection kept me hooked. Charlie was amazing! What she did in the brink of heartache was incredible. She's no doormat. Loved the age difference and the story behind the two main characters. And holy hell the amount of angst when a certain character re-enters the scene is intense. It was so amazing. I'll never look at the letter W the same again. A genuine love story that everyone needs to read!
Love,
HJB

A sweet story!

I'm not sure if it was just me or the writing, but it took me a little while to really get hooked with this book. However, I am so glad I kept listening, because I really ended up liking it. The story was sweet with lots of feels. The characters were interesting and likable, and there was just enough drama to keep me interested without being overly angsty.

I really liked Reed and Charlie. They were both fun characters with friends that added humor and gave them the nudges they needed. They both had past experiences that shaped their relationship, but the connection they shared couldn't be denied. I liked that neither of them were over the top, but rather they both seemed real. Reed was a total sweetheart! I loved that he knew a good thing when he saw it. And while Charlie had been through a lot, I loved that she still managed to put herself out there with a bit of encouragement.

The narration was also really well done. Sarah Puckett and Steve Campbell are both fairly new narrators for me, but they both did a great job and fit these characters well. If you are looking for a good accent, you will enjoy Mr. Campbell. Overall, this was an enjoyable listen, and I will check out both the author and narrators again in the future.

Sweet Romantic, Humor, Fun and Great Narrators

A young man in college attached to a long ago crush and a girl who writes a blog after being left at the altar.
The girl left at the altar is shy of commitment, and on going back to school meets the young man. She is sweet, kind, loyal and mature...she begins to fall and to add a bit of angst, he has a secret..nothing horrible but she takes it too seriously..
Entertaining, fun, sweet and heartwarming.
The narrators are fantastic and perfect for this story..keeping you engaged and attached to the characters, can’t go wrong with a great British accent.

Not your typical girl next door story

Theater major, Reed Windsor, is in his senior year if college and he’s an anomaly...he’s a 22yr old virgin. Even though he’s popular on campus, it’s not due to being a player, instead it’s for his charitable work in the community. Oh, and he has a hot British accent.
Charlie O’Ded has dealt with a lot in the last 2 yrs, she was left at the altar and started her own jewelry business. Now the 27yr old has decided to complete her business degree. She meets Reed on campus and sparks fly...except Reed has a secret...he spent his childhood summers in the house across from Charlie. He has always had a crush on ‘the girl behind the red door’ and now is his chance to get to know her. Will Charlie get past the 4 yr age difference and give Reed a chance?
Loved the slow burn of the relationship between Charlie and Reed. Lots of funny moments and crazy, loyal friends. Oh, and Reed is swoon worthy...just.yum!
Narration team did a great job with bringing each character to life...I can easily envision them. Definitely a book that’s worth the read/listen.
