Story line pushes ‘believable’ boundaries. Which in a ‘magical’ world is saying something. I enjoyed the return of the characters, and the twists and turns of the story line. I can’t wait for the next one.

Loved the whole series from start to finish.the characters are really good and the narrator is nice to listen too.

Great listen

Things carry on being tricky balancing magic and crime. Good fun books with likeable characters and Corvids. One thing I don’t understand is why fairly graphic scenes of violence are allowed but our heroine can’t utter a swear word. I’m guessing it’s a thing readers prefer but it’s really rather stupid.

Continues in good form

At long last, the newest book is out. 5☆ writing once again and the same for the narration too. We are left with a cliff hanger, which has left me longing for the next book

I've enjoyed the series so far but this one adds nothing to the story line. Lydia's loss of her powers just weakens her contribution to the extent that her being the leader of the Crow family has to be repeated a few dozen times too many.
Unfortunately the narrator's voices for men are very poor, so that the DCI sounds like a petulant and slightly stoned teenager.
Sorry for the very negative review, but I found this very hard going and I think it's the last one for me.

Rather pointless
