Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

The 10th-anniversary edition of the game-changing number one New York Times best seller, featuring a new foreword.

For more than a decade, Brené Brown has found a special place in our hearts as a gifted mapmaker and a fellow traveller. She is both a social scientist and a kitchen-table friend whom you can always count on to tell the truth, make you laugh and, on occasion, cry with you. And what's now become a movement all started with The Gifts of Imperfection, which has sold more than two million copies in 35 different languages across the globe.

What transforms this audiobook from written word to effective daily practices are the 10 guideposts to wholehearted living. The guideposts not only help us understand the practices that will allow us to change our lives and families, they also walk us through the unattainable and sabotaging expectations that get in the way.

Brené writes, 'This book is an invitation to join a wholehearted revolution. A small, quiet, grassroots movement that starts with each of us saying, "My story matters because I matter." Revolution might sound a little dramatic, but in this world, choosing authenticity and worthiness is an absolute act of resistance.'

Love hearing Brené read it this time!

I bought the book again as it had been a while since I’d listened to it and although the previous narrator was good, I really wanted to hear Brené reading her own words. It didn’t disappoint. The concepts in the book are so simple it makes you wonder why you haven’t properly integrated them into your life before. But Brené packages it in a way that is refreshing and makes you breathe a sigh of relief. You won’t regret listening to it.

Worthy of love and belongs in your life!

I love Brenè and everything she has ever said or written! I own a hardcopy but was soooooo happy when this was finally released narrated by Brenè herself, thanks Penguin and the BB crew for making it happen. Now with the audiobook too, I have laughed, wept and held my heart in solidarity throughout. Prepare to be moved, inspired, held and supported... and prepare for this to be your new favourite book!

Loved it

Found the length of the chapters perfect. Loved the "Let's get intentional" bits. The examples given helped me a lot to really understand the guidelines and I absolutely loved the narrator's voice (Brené's)

Listen then listen again

Great to have Brene Brown reading this text. Powerful stuff. Accessible. But hard work will follow listening to this book! It’s worth it.
