Charlie Parker's investigations draw him into a world of modern furies; goddesses of vengeance.

The Furies: mythological snake-haired goddesses of vengeance, pursuers of those who have committed unavenged crimes. Now, private investigator C harlie Parker is drawn into a world of modern furies. In The Sisters Strange, the return of the criminal Raum Buker to Portland, Maine brings with it chaos and murder, as an act of theft threatens not only to tear apart his own existence but also that of Raum's former lovers, the enigmatic sisters Dolors and Ambar Strange. And in The Furies Parker finds himself fighting to protect two more women as the city of Portland shuts down in the face of a global pandemic, but it may be that his clients are more capable of taking care of themselves than anyone could have imagined . . . Two novels in one from the master of the modern supernatural thriller.

'John Connolly is the creator of a unique blend of thriller and horror who receives rave reviews every time for his lyrical, almost poetic language' Sunday Telegraph

Well written and read. The story’s were very good and the caricatures living up to expectations. Well done again.

I have read and listened to all the Charlie Parker series but was disappointed with The Furies it just didn’t seem to work for me, maybe I’ve been so spoiled with the whole series so far that I was expecting better, it just seemed disjointed, maybe it’s me getting old,
Jeff Harding was his usual superb self,

I have read all the Charlie Parker books and was intrigued by the poor reviews that this book attracted. It is different but don’t let that put you off. We enjoy writers for their creativity and one should never be afraid to explore different approaches.

Connolly is a brilliant storyteller and Jeff Harding a great wing man.

There are three loosely entwined stories that keep Parker on his toes. It was good to have the gang back together as the previous book was almost all Angel and Louis. Look forward to the next

Just never tire of the CP stories and fabulous narration. Best to listen in order if new to this series.
