Summary

The chilling new psychological thriller from the bestselling author of I Am Watching You.

On a train with her husband, miles from home and their four-year-old son, Ben, Sophie receives a chilling phone call. Two boys are in hospital after a tragic accident. One of them is Ben.

She thought she could trust Emma, her new friend, to look after her little boy. After all, Emma’s a kindred spirit—someone Sophie was sure she could bare her soul to, despite the village rumours. But Sophie can’t shake the feeling that she’s made an unforgivable mistake and now her whole family is in danger.

Because how well does she know Emma, really? Should she have trusted her at all?

Time is running out. Powerless to help her child, still hours from home, Sophie is about to discover the truth. And her life will never be the same.

Every mothers nightmare

Chilling psycho thriller. Can a best friend really betray you in the worst way possible?

Not my favourite Teresa novel

The narrator wasn’t the best and I found myself disengaged at times.
The story was ok

Had potential....!!!

The story is potentially a really good one, however the jumping between times (before & now) & sometimes being from different characters perspective without being clear who's perspective it was made it quite difficult to follow in places (I think it took me twice as long to listen to as I kept having to rewind because I was confused!)
The narration was not great, quite rushed that again I struggled to follow in places but also the accents she did were absolutely awful! I couldn't tell if the police woman/PI were meant to be northern or Scottish!! I'm not fussy when it comes to narration, I can listen to most people without complaint as long as I can follow but I won't listen to this narrator again!
Otherwise fairly good story (from what I could understand!) & does all tie up well at the end though.

easy listening

this was a easy book to listen to, it didn't have me wanting to listen in one session, but did keep me interested. I didn't see the ending coming, which is always a bonus, but I did feel it was a bit rushed towards the end.

Brilliant

Really worth reading bit slow to start but once it picked up I didn’t want to get out the car and go to work

Ok - hard to get into

I didn’t like this as much as other books by this author. The end is good and everything ties up well. The narrator is ok apart from these bizarre Yorkshire accents (think that’s what she aimed for) that characters (in the south of England) suddenly have. If you’ve met Melanie Sanders and Matthew Hill in previous audio books, they don’t have these accents then! It didn’t work, in fact I’m not sure if that’s what put me off the story as technically it was quite good!

Enjoyable

I really liked this story, it allowed absorption into village life and the characters were very believable - good twists - great narration

Great story but terrible accents

Not well read which is a shame as it is a great story with good twists.

Great story. Loved the narration.

I was hooked. The narrators voice was perfect for the story. Cannot understand the complaints.
