About this listen

Lady Henrietta has been in love with her neighbour since she was eight years old, and always known they were fated to be together. Unfortunately for her, Lord Cottingham seems oblivious to the fact they were made for each other.

When Henrietta is forced to acknowledge that Cottingham thinks of her as nothing more than a friend, she is determined to make him realise just what a diamond he has let slip through his fingers by making the ton fall in love with her instead.

When James Douglas, Lord Cottingham, returned home from a year in Montreal he expected life to be exactly as he left it. Unfortunately his best friend, Lady Henrietta, seems to have got a bee in her bonnet over his never replying to her letters, and suddenly he finds himself fighting for her time and attention not only with the best and the brightest of the ton, but with the handsome and roguish Duke of Devenish, who seems to be very taken with Henrietta.

As the two friends battle with their feelings for each other and the ton seeks to meddle at every turn, Henrietta must decide if there are better men out there than the boy she grew up with, and James must uncover the truth of his own heart before he loses something he loves forever.

The Foolish Friend can be enjoyed as a stand-alone novel or as part of the Regency Romps series.

Book Two in the Regency Romps Series does not disappoint. Elizabeth Bramwell as author and Julia Eve as narrator together create totally 'feel-good' romances that are clean and 100% fun and lively. I do believe this reflects the quirky and likeable personality of the author who is able to create engaging side characters and likeable leads who go on a heartfelt and emotional journey to find each other including some amusing scenes and small; touches such as the all-white gowns. I won't spoil but watch for this.

This is a Regency short story with a length of 4 hours and 48 minutes yet it feels complete and satisfying. I highly recommend this series.

Another Genial Romance Adventure

I love the Regency Romps series!! I am a big Jane Austen and Georgette Heyer fan and I have also ready many “regency romances”. I’m not keen on the ones with raunchy scenes so I am thrilled with this series with its lovely romantic, funny, true to life in Regency England themes. I highly recommend these books. The performance is spot on and I can’t find one flaw in keeping of the language of the day. Very well done! I’m off to listen to the next one!
