Summary

Here, the man who started the "food revolution" with the million-plus-selling Diet for a New America, boldly posits that, collectively, our personal diet can save ourselves and the world. If, according to chaos theory, the beating of a butterfly's wing can cause a hurricane in another part of the world, try this out for chaotic cause and effect: monarch butterflies are dying in droves due to genetically-engineered corn growing in the Midwest. There is also a direct correlation between the Big Mac in your hand and the mile-wide river now running across the North Pole. Learn the truth about foods we are eating that are, in Robbins' words, "unsafe on any plate."

Must read if you care about anything1

This book neatly and convincingly ties together the topics of human health, animal welfare, care for the environment, and climate change. It is an essential, important story, told sincerely.

Enlightening...what we all should know about food

What did you like most about The Food Revolution?

The information is this book empowers you to make a difference to the current corporate power structure - eg food production and pharmaceuticals, environment, improve personal health, and animal welfare - all by choosing what food you put into your mouth.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Made me sad about the state of the world but hopeful that individuals can make a difference.

Great book. Some of the voices were a bit robotic but I enjoyed it overall.

a manual for creating a more sustainable world

so many people it seems, feel that there is little they can do to contribute reducing global warming and helping to create a more sustainable planet. The answer is in this book. Changing your diet can improver your health and the health of the planet.

Eye opening

Truly brilliant book, completely makes you realise how we’ve been lied to by governments and the food industry.

Didn't manage to finish it

Although I agree with the overall idea of the book, its a bit preachy & I don't agree that being a vegan is better for you than not, so I found this book a little difficult
