Summary

Despite what you might have been told, we're not inherently selfish. The truth is we're inherently kind. Scientific evidence has proven that kindness changes the brain, impacts the heart and immune system, is an antidote to depression, and even slows the aging process. We're actually genetically wired to be kind.

In The Five Side Effects of Kindness, David Hamilton shows that the effects of kindness are felt daily throughout our nervous system. When we're kind we feel happier, and our bodies are healthiest. In his down-to-earth and accessible style, David shares how:

  • Kindness makes us happier
  • Kindness is good for the heart
  • Kindness slows aging
  • Kindness improves relationships
  • Kindness is contagious

It’s made me be a better person and feel happier

I bought this book on a whim and I love the concept and it really was great. Since reading it I’ve tried in my every day life to do little to even bigger kind things that take me out of my comfort zone too. Today I got mentioned on a post for “Restoring someone’s faith in humanity” by tracking them down and returning their annual travel card, that they had dropped, to them. They felt so happy but I felt happier. Buy the book and feel your life become better and everyone’s around you. Thanks David

Love Love Love this!

This is the 2nd Dr David Hamilton book I've read after seeing him talk in Bristol. I'm a fan and think there are some really amazing scientific insights that are so easy to take on board but could be truly transformational in everyday life! Buy it.
