In upstate New York, in the woods around Woodstock, Dutchman's Creek flows out of the Ashokan Reservoir. the story-within-a-story dragged too long. I feel like I connected with Abe, only to lose him for far too long. a good book, but let down by this...

themes of grief beautifully written

It's a (long) story within a story. I didn't think it was terribly well written as half way through, probably at the most pivotal point, I was really struggling with the imagery. There's many points where the dialogue is.... Dan says.... Frank says.... Dan says ... etc which I found really irritating especially as the narrators voice was the same throughout.
My first 'horror' book so maybe not my genre.

I enjoyed the start as a fisherman myself the waters are the best place to get away from it all. However the story really just turned into a drag and hard to finish.

Incredible book, a little slow earlier in but sets the scene and character well for an incredible end half of the book.
