Summary

Zombies. It was out in the open, that word that I had been avoiding for days. Now that it was out, there was no putting it back.

No one saw it coming. No one could have guessed that the vaccine that was supposed to save lives would take them, instead. Once the death toll started to climb, it took less than a day for the world to change forever.

When Bri's roommate suddenly develops a taste for cannibalism, she finds herself trapped in her upstairs bathroom, unable to comprehend the horrors that she sees through the small window. That limited view of the outside world doesn't begin to show Bri just how much danger she's going to be in when she finally escapes her home.

Running for her life, Bri won't be alone for long. With the help of a bat-wielding stranger, she barely escapes the overrun city. Together, they just might survive long enough to find a safe haven.

The zombie apocalypse is a strange time to be alive. The dead walk and eat the living, but they're not the most dangerous thing this new world has to offer. There are other survivors out there. And not all of them can be trusted.

Worth a listen

It’s well written and has a good pace to keep you interested, the only downside is toward the end of the book where it kinda gets rushed and some bits aren’t really explained or skipped over .

I’d certainly read another book in the series though if there was one

Entertaining

I enjoyed this action packed book, it was filled with nerve wracking tension, making the fear and horror of the characters palpable. I really liked Brie and Sean, two ordinary people who manage to not only survive but find surprising hidden depths, and in Brie's case, leadership skills. I hope theres a follow up, I really want to know whats next for them. I received this book in exchange for my honest review.

Good Story

I do like a good zombie book and this didn't disappoint. Plenty of action and we'll read.

Ok

Now, I am a big fan of Zombie books and I feel that I have exhausted the best out there. Though this book kept me entertained, I do have issues with it!
The narrator made the protagonist sound so pathetic. Many a times I rolled my eyes at her voice.
The attention to detail was also lacking, for example, if one is living through an apocalypse surely you would pick up the weapons your enemies have dropped 🤷🏾‍♀️.
I don’t know, if I could slap a book, this is one I would slap!

Generic

I'm a big fan of the zombie survival genre, and although 'The First 30 Days' isn't bad, it's storey arch and character base is a little overdone and mundane. Plenty worse, but plenty better in the genre out there.
