Arden is a delightful character, she's awed by the praise her new book gets and is grateful that her hard work has paid off and her family are there to support her. You cannot help but like her and her family, then be terrified for her when she is attacked by Dustin. The pain and fear she is left with pours from the page as she tries to move on, and she does an amazing job with the support of her family and a quirky but awesome group of friends, especially the gruff but delicious Gideon. Gideon helps her see she is far stronger than she thought and definitely smarter than the detestable Dustin.
Dustin instantly has you on edge, his unfiltered thoughts send chills down your spine as he rants and spews horrific and sickening intentions. And when he acts? Sickeningly brutal and unimaginably cruel and cold. I enjoyed seeing Arden facing her demon and besting him.
I listened to this on Audible, the narrator was as good as the book and made this an enjoyable listen.
