The Vulture is dead. The body of Quincy McKay's nemesis and biggest competitor in the floral business has just been discovered in a casket at the mortuary, complete with flowers on the lid.
Derrick Gibbons, aka The Vulture, stole all of Quincy's funeral business, and now she's on a mission to get it back. But there's a problem - Quincy is now the main suspect in The Vulture's murder.
Armed with only her Zombie delivery van, good intentions, and the business card of a handsome cop named Alex, she must find the killer, save the flower shop, and keep from ending up in the next casket. If she can dodge burning bushes, the plague of a polygamist ex, and her mother's Mormon Mafia Spy Network, her life with Alex and her shop could become the perfect arrangement.

There was simply too much going on in this book. The reader is inundated with the lead character's opinion on Mormons and her trust issues with men. The reader is told about her past with domestic violence but instead of making Quincy endearing it makes her annoying because of her behavior. Quincy acts without thinking and makes horrible decisions. Her character remained flat and unlikable throughout the book. The plot fell short in that there wasn't very much investigation done by Quincy. There were few clues to develop the mystery which made the story boring. I forced myself to finish this book because I had nothing else to listen to. I wouldn't recommend it.

A fun new series
An enjoyable new mystery series. I like that the author brought in culturally relevant ideas and themes into the plot, characters, and setting!

FUN!! get ready to laugh!
Would you listen to The Final Arrangement again? Why?
I would listen again for the FUN of it. There are great characters, situations, mysteries and the world! I laughed out loud, snorted my drink, giggled and reminisced.
What did you like best about this story?
I love the humor.
What about Elan O'Connor’s performance did you like?
I love her noises, laughs and sighs like a real person makes, not just saying, "and she laughed" or "with a sigh" it made the story more real for me.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Any additional comments?
I was going to get book 2. Until I saw there was no narration. Now I'll wait and see if Elan O'Connor narrates book 2, otherwise forget it.
Interesting twists and a couple of U turns
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
The book is a good listen when able to stay focused and in tune. Driving to and from work for say a 15 minute commute doesn't work with this book. Long chapters
What aspect of Elan O'Connor’s performance would you have changed?
her voice is a bit annoying at times when she assumes different characters - I got confused a few times on who was talking and to whom...
Did The Final Arrangement inspire you to do anything?
I finished the book and l looked to see if there are any more in the series. Alas not at this time.
