Summary
There’s a stranger in your house.
It’s your husband....
I wake on the sofa, my head throbbing. Why did I fall asleep here?
In the darkness, I make my way to my bedroom. I know immediately something is wrong. The sheets I tucked in so carefully this morning are rumpled, disturbed. I turn on the lights.
And then I scream.
There’s a body in my bed. And I know this man: We went on two dates together. Who could have killed him? And how did he get into this house? Only two people have a key: me and my ex-husband, Matthew.
I cast my mind desperately back to last night, to the last few painful months. I thought I could trust Matthew...now I can’t be sure. Would he really go this far to be rid of me?
But even if that’s true, I can’t tell the police my suspicions. I can’t risk them digging into our past.
Because my greatest fear is that someone has learned the terrible secret that tore Matthew and I apart and tied us together forever.... The secret I’ll do anything to keep.
An absolutely gripping thriller that will keep you listening late into the night. Perfect for fans of Gillian Flynn, Ruth Ware, and Lisa Jewell.

Twist
This one had a great twist. I can usually predict the ending. Recommend this book

I didn't care for this book at all.
Lifetime movie, story is trite, boring, simple and just bad. Pick any of those and it's enough to skip this book.

Just above average
Judged it 2-3 *(stars) for the fact that it did contain unsuspected twists but agree with a prior reviewer that the ending was mundane, unsatisfying. I hesitated 1/2 way at chapters 20-22 as to whether worth finishing. By that time was so annoyed by heroine Lillian’s naivety, illogical behaviors & thinking. It didn’t deliver, wasn’t worth purchase price & will delete it from my library.

Just mediocre
The pace here is slow and there's lots of repetition, but the storyline does create significant suspense. Given the tension created, I was really disappointed by the mundane conclusion. Wish I had skipped this one.
