About this listen

The Chamberlain family - Charlie and Daphne and their children Laura, Scott and Nick - had fantastic summer holidays when they were young. But then, inevitably, the children grew up and their own messy lives got in the way.

Since their mum died, it feels to them all as if their family just isn't that close any more. And Charlie fears his kids have all lost their direction.

For his 80th birthday, all Charlie wants is to bring his family together again - and by some miracle, they've all said yes.

It's only 10 days...how hard can it be?

An easy enjoyable read that keeps you engaged from start to finish, with believable characters that you buy into & care about.(within the context of the book).

This is the first book I have read by this author, so I have no comparison with other previous or subsequent works. A good book to take on holiday!

An enjoyable read

A tale of siblings coming together for a holiday at the behest of a dad who had felt a little absent. All loose ends neatly tied, a good story nicely read.

a bit obvious in the end but a good read

A lovely sorry about how a family can become unfamiliar with each other with the various stresses and strains of life. Not a humorous read but quite an uplifting one where you can lose yourself in the holiday and the family I enjoyed it!

A nice summer read

An enjoyable read about bringing the whole family together. It starts with Nick and his 3 children who all under 6 , as the story goes on I kept getting the feeling that they were portrayed as being older. The other reason I marked it down was the use of the F word. (personal feeling I know)

Nice gentle listen
