I couldn't finish it
omg, I couldn't listen anymore. only got to chapter 4. it was making me so mad. wanted to put her in her place. ( a polite term, for well, you can imagine ).

Not the best
I didn’t really enjoy this book. Found it very slow and not really interesting until towards the end. Story a bit predictable. I turned up the speed to get through it quicker in the end

returned after 1st chapter.
this was so predictable I returned it. do not like mention of pandemic at all times also. so depressing. I have almost enjoyed previous Lyness books but her writing has deteriorated. like many authors she is rushing to get books out.

EXCELLENT!
Great character development.
Very talented author and narrator. Great team.
Can't believe I got this book "for free" from the catalogue.
Am looking forward to her next book, both author and narrator.
Took one star off for swearing. The "F" bomb. But it mostly wasn't excessive and was not put where it shouldn't be. But I personally think swearing is NEVER necessary in any book, ever.
But again, great job.

Lynes and Kennard! Perfection!
I so do love my British physiological thrillers and this is yet another reason why. No doubt that this new Audible book is a winner! A favorite duo of mine, the choice of both S.E. Lynes and Tamsin Kennard brings forth their skills as they work in sync together. The first book I bought that takes place during the COVID lockdown, Lynes weaves a suspenseful and devious tale. Bringing two people together again, we are treated to Kennard’s pitch-perfect vocals of each and every character. I do have a vast collection of both of these talented women and I continue to look for more. This is a story filled with emotional issues including vengeance, lies, trust, sadness, secrets, murder, mind-games along with jaw-dropping surprises around every corner. I couldn’t stop listening. Worth my cherished credit? Indeed! An awesome nod to Lynes, Kennard and those responsible for making this Audible gem available. Epic, I say! EPIC! EPIC! EPIC!

I tried to keep listening in the hopes it would get better. No such luck. I stopped after a few hours of listening. The narrator is great though.

Loved it!
I love S.E. Lynes books and this was a good one. Only complaint is the lead character driving me nuts being too blind and meek, but that is part of the story and the story held my interest totally.

The title details DO NOT adequately describe the book
The title details, I truly not accurate I kept listening to see if the story would eventually reflect the details. It didn’t. The book was OK. I will say that the reveal took entirely too long and by the time he did get there, I just wanted to hurry up and finish the book. Overall, the book was OK I will say it was saved by the performance of the narrator. The story itself was just OK. I will listen to this author again however, I am hoping the next book will be a little bit better.
