It did, howver, keep me riveted from beginning to end. 

 I didn't like their ONS! Great how they met but let down by how it ended. Personally, I would told him to take a hike! Having said this, I loved how their story progressed and came to a wonderful conclusion.

I would have liked to have more of Lex's backstory to find out why she had neither friends nor family to turn to. 

The #duetnarration was as excellent as ever.

I loved this audiobook, an impressive scorching hot and emotionally moving billionaire romance, one that grabs your attention and holds it captive the entire time. It is my first Ivy Wild book, and consider me impressed with her writing style and the complex characters and storylines she created. After losing her job as a lawyer, Alexandra “Lex” Evans, needing a new beginning, decided on a career change, taking a job managing an estate in the countryside. Arriving in town the night before she starts her job at “The Estate”, she goes into town to grab a bite to eat and finds herself in the bar, and he caught her eye right away, and it wasn’t just his car, but his whole look and demeanor called to her, and the feelings were mutual, because Carter Ross felt the pull too. After a steamy encounter and a night to be remembered, they went on their way, probably never seeing each other again, or so they thought. Lex’s arrival at The Estate led to an unexpected encounter with her one-night stand, who turned out to be her new boss. Carter was not happy about this development, but they both agreed last night was a mistake that would never happen again. The chemistry between them was undeniable, and they could only deny each other for so long. Carter Ross, bossy, broody and broken, but Lex, who knows broken, related to him and really got him. Both had walls built around their hearts, and Carter’s lack of trust is understandable, stemming from betrayals by those who were close to him. Carter’s backstory was heartbreaking, and I do not know who I despised more, his father, his ex-wife or his conniving colleague. Wild plotting was fantastic, weaving a mighty fine web, piecing it all together, and it was great watching it all unravel and then come together again. I loved all the layers of the story and how it all played out, with the perfect balance of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions, and steamy romance. Ivy Wild, thank you for this excellent story and the emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 CJ Bloom and Joe Arden gave an outstanding performance, truly animating the characters and their narrative, resulting in an enthralling performance that immediately grabs and holds your attention the entire time. With character voices that were fitting, they delivered a perfect portrayal of each, nailing it in both the lead and secondary roles. Bloom was a natural in Lex’s role, grasping every aspect of her personality, from her insecurities to her fierceness and all in between. And Arden as Carter, wow, showcasing his personality perfectly, nailing Carter’s angst, vulnerabilities, his passion and more. Their pacing and tone were just right for the story, and their performances conveyed each character’s emotion, and have you feel them all. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their performance takes the already amazing story to another level.

Where are my billionaire romance loving bookies at? Cause this is one you don't want to miss! There is steamy one night stand, boss X employee, he falls hard, conniving ex, and beautifully chiseled characters! I absolutely loved falling in love with Alexandra Evans & Carter Ross. Their story is filled with their broken moments from the past, with healing moments of the present and redeeming moments of the future. I adored the journey I took with them!

CJ Bloom & Joe Arden teamed up to deliver an absolute epic performance. Joe Arden nailed the bossy dominant side of Carter & absolutely brought him to life. CJ Bloom has a beautiful cadence to her voice, lending it to capture the moments of vulnerability and perfection that was Alexandra Evans. These two nailed every sizzling moment of chemistry between Carter & Lex! They nailed the villians in the best way! They are truly a powerhouse duo of narrators and I am already looking forward to book 2 in this series from this talented author!
