As a princess in the impoverished kingdom of Delantria, it’s Aldari’s job to look pretty, speak little, and marry a prince.

Studying mathematics and writing papers on economic theory in an effort to fix her people’s financial woes? Her father has forbidden it. With war on the horizon, they must focus on the immediate threat.

Never mind that her kidnapper is witty and clever and offers her a challenge that intrigues her mind even as his easy smile intrigues her heart….

Aldari can’t let herself develop feelings for him. To fall in love and walk away from her wedding would mean the end of her kingdom and everyone she cares about.

I loved the characters and the descriptive passages. The Princess is relatable and easily liked, and a bad ass body guard funny.

As the title says, fun and flirty. Then add a ton of backstory, fun on the run (from monsters), and enjoyable plots. Am very happy with the story. It might be a little bit lighter than the "usual" Buroker book. But definately has the Buroker magic. As before, the narrator is wonderful too.

This was a nice change from what i have listened to so far. (Gore and horrors)
The characters are cute and it was easy to figure out what was going on.

This was an ok listen, but not half as enjoyable as this author’s Death Before Dragons series. It lacked the excitement and chemistry of that one. I’ll still get more in this series if they’re released, though.
