The Egyptian antiquities muurder

Loved this book and can't wait for the next one! Hopefully I won't have to wait too long. Please read if you're an Agatha Christie of period drama who done it fan! A +++++++++++

Peabody Inspired.

I love this Amelia Peabody inspired addition to the series.

I am, however, increasingly irritated, however, by the number of Americanisms that are liberally sprinked through the supposedly English setting. It jars you right out of the narrative flow when a very English character says "cookies" when they mean "biscuits", for example, and they're all putting cream into their tea instead of milk... (but at least this book has "pavement" instead of sidewalk", so there has been a little improvement in that respect).

Loved it

I really love the time period in which this series is set. I'm also quite fascinated by the Egyptomania that swept the world in the 20s. I had a good old nosy at the author's pinterest board to see the inspiration behind the story and photos of the Wallace Collection.
The mystery was good and I loved the exciting conclusion when Olive confronted the killer. The narration by Elizabeth Klett is excellent as always.
I can't wait for the rest of the series to come out on Audible.

Not as good as the first two books

Plot a bit weak despite the rich tapestry that Egyptology offers. Felt formulaic. A little disappointed.

Not as good as the previous two.

Lots of mini mysteries to unravel, some of which were quite unlikely! The solution was hit and miss and the pulling together of all of the loose threads, were quite thin. I’ll try one more, then that’s it!
