Summary
The Easytown Novels create a frighteningly real near future world beset by climate change, social depravity, moral ambiguity, and corporate greed. Easytown is city with a thousand stories and the hard-nosed homicide detective, Zach Forrest, is determined to learn them all.
Book 1 - The Immorality Clause: Easytown’s robotic pleasure clubs are a serial killer’s playground.
The futuristic slum in eastern New Orleans is a violent place where any vice can be satisfied - for a price. As long as the taxes are paid and tourists continue to flock to the city, businesses are allowed to operate as they see fit. When a string of grisly murders rocks the city, homicide detective Zach Forrest must hunt down the killer responsible before they strike again.
Book 2 - Tears of a Clone: Torture tourism is an illegal sport in Easytown - unless the victim is a clone, then nobody cares.
When Detective Forrest discovers the mutilated bodies of three clones in a garbage compactor, he’s shocked to learn of the multi-million dollar industry of torture tourism. He embarks on an unauthorized investigation and discovers that the truth behind the clone murders is more terrifying than he’d imagined.
Book 3 - West End Droids & East End Dames: Everything comes crashing down on Forrest when a rampaging cyborg attacks, disrupting his investigation into the death of a lowly thumper club doorman who knew too much. Before he can determine his next move, a beautiful evidence clerk lands on his doorstep and forces her way into his life. Meanwhile, the precinct chief tasks him to track down and stop the street doctors who build the abominations.
But, will doing so cost Zach more than he’d expected?

Like Tears (Of A Clone) In Rain...
In my opinion, this series is a hidden gem. If you're looking for a top-tier quality Cyberpunk/ Sci-Fi/ noir series, reminiscent of the likes of Bladerunner, then look no further than The Easytown Novels (Book 1-3 omnibus in this case).
I found the storytelling exceptional. Great action, plot, dialog and character interactions. Suprisingly, these books had plenty of humor, made even funnier thanks to the superb narration and voice effects used by Daniel Penz.
Overall, I would consider this series an easy 5 star listen. Highly recommended.

Fantastic Gritty Detective Stories
I really liked these stories. The excellent world weary narration, the fantastic but plausible world building, and the inventive plots make for an outstanding piece of detective fiction.

Immersive, great detective story.
Books 1-3 cast a vision of the near future and what we could be living like. The technology is not over stated or unbelievable and fits well with the story. The characters are well developed and each book is an individual case. Really enjoyed it.

Sublime Noir Sci-Fi Crime Thriller!
This series of audiobooks are simply wonderful. I listened to the first one some time ago and was blown away by it.
I literally jumped at the chance to listen to the trilogy.
The books feel like you are in an old school crime noir story but with artfully crafted Science Fiction elements.
The story draws you in and takes you along on a rollercoaster through this immersive world.
I loved the characters even some of the villains and lesser characters.
The narration performance is an elevation to an already amazing story the narration simply brings the world further into reality and lends true life into the characters.
This trilogy is worth anyones money or credit and I urge you to give it a try as I do not think you will be disappointed.

Superbly narrated cyber noir
A truly excellent trilogy that leaves you wanting more. Gloriously gritty with hints of humour these three books are simply perfect for fans of the cyber/bio punk genre.
The narration of Daniel Penz is excellent and his use of synthesization for certain characters enhances the whole futuristic feel of the novels.
These books are absolutely worth the time and the money

The first three of a series.
A must of a book.
The author Brian Parker got one amazing brain with unbelievable imagination.
I was writing a really long review on this trilogy but have decided to delete it all and just say INCREDIBLE.
Excellent and pure joy.
with twist after twist.
Beautiful narration by Daniel Penz for each of the characters in this creation.
Without a doubt
got my full
recommendations !!!

Solid Bladerunner style detective series
I recieved the first book for free, with the usual caviates of writing an honest review etc etc. I got a few chapters in, and then bought the entire trilogy - so that should give you an indication of feelings of this series
1) Immorality Clause
Immorality Clause is extrememly will written, and treads to fine line of world building, and actual story telling, with finesse. It mixes Blade Runner (but with less distopia) , a little Raymond Chandler, with the TV show Criminal Minds, and it just works. This was my first introduction to Brian Parker as writer, and Im suitably impressed. The plot is smart, and doesnt get bogged down with trying to be too clever (looking at you Neuromancer and Snow Crash...)
The book really hits the mark though, with its characterisation. The protagonist is very well written, easy to sympathise with, and dear god you are completely rooting for him to succeed all the way through. Daniel Penz's narration is perfect for the role and world, adding a lot of depth to the story.
2) Tears of a Clone
A superb follow up to Immorality Clause, writing, charactors and plot are once again on point. This entry however is a lot darker, and deal withs with social injustices, and the protagonists own personality failings, giving him even more depth than before.
Somehow this is the second story involving Clones that Ive been subjected to in the last month, both tackling similiar subject matters. The other novel was Authority, both deal with clones as property the lack of right, and an overall conspiracy surrounding them. Authority was ham fisted, Tears of the Clone however, was excellent
3) West End Droids & East End Dames
Excluding the short stories collection, at the time of writing, this is the last book in the Easytown series.
Out of the 3 novels, this is the weakest. The writing, charactors and plot are on point, but it just ends on a bit of whimper, rather than a bang. You do get a satifisying end to the series, but it feels like its missing an epilogue
I'd happily read/listen to another installment

exceptional, and I don't sy that lightly
firstly I have to give praise to the narrator who gave one of the best performances I've heard. it suited the characters so so well and gave depth to their personalities. the plot was heart wrenching and yet captivating. quite tough to listen to someone screwing up their life so badly, but the author really makes you feel for the character and sympathise with him. It was a rollercoaster to sy the least, and was really a refreshing read. I absolutely loved it.

Decent story, decent writing, decent narration.
Nothing special, but if you're looking got a noir/cyberpunk, give this one a shot.
