Summary
The Tungrian auxiliary cohorts return to Hadrian's Wall after their successful Dacian campaign, only to find Britannia in chaos. The legions are overstretched, struggling to man the forts of the northern frontier in the face of increasing barbarian resistance. The Tungrians are the only soldiers who can be sent into the northern wastes, far beyond the long-abandoned wall built by Antoninus, where a lost symbol of imperial power of the Sixth Victorious Legion is reputed to await them.
Protected by an impassable swamp and hidden in a fortress atop a high mountain, the eagle of the Sixth legion must be recovered if the legion is to survive.
Marcus and his men must penetrate the heart of the enemy's strength, ghosting through a deadly wilderness patrolled by vicious huntresses before breaching the walls of the Fang, an all-but-impregnable fort, if they are to rescue the legion's venerated standard. If successful their escape will be twice as perilous, with the might of a barbarian tribe at their heels.

Great series of books - and this is not different - Im totally hooked - chain-listening to the entire series.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Eagle's Vengeance?
Great narrator - great story
Which character – as performed by Saul Reichlin – was your favourite?
I love the depiction of the motley Barbarians
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes but unabridged takes too long

really good series of books
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
definitely recommend it, the whole series in fact, the books flow into each other seamlessly.
What other book might you compare The Eagle's Vengeance to, and why?
I started this series after I had exhausted the Conn Iggulden roman and Genghis Khan series (also recommended)
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
The narration was good, and each character had their own voice although the women were pretty poor.
Any additional comments?
The only bad thing about this series is I am getting fed up with the word HEFT/HEFTED and Nocked (?) they are repeated used throughout the series and are starting to jar!

Would you listen to The Eagle's Vengeance again? Why?
Love the series and the way the characters develop over time
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Eagle's Vengeance?
Some twists and turns you wold not expect - as in every book of this series!
Any additional comments?
I especially love the way the narrator works the characters voices in such a distinctive fashion - I know who is speaking every time just from the way he uses his voice. I will look for more books narrated by Saul Reichlin in the future

Continuing of a great story
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes. It is a continuation of a great series.
Any additional comments?
To be honest, I started to get tired of the book mid way through. It did drag a little but the last 3rd of the book make up for that and was great.
