Summary
Opal desperately wants to fall in love and have a whirlwind romance, preferably with a human. So when he's rescued by a dashing knight, he thinks his day has finally come. There's just one problem: Tristan hates dragons. Opal isn't going to let something silly like that get in the way of his true love, though. Surely with a bit of wooing, some aphrodisiac dragon fluids, and an epic journey together, Tristan will see the error of his ways, and they can have their happily ever after.
Lost in grief, Tristan's only goal in life is to eradicate the monsters that killed his brother. He doesn't really want to babysit delicate Opal, who wears skirts and makeup and dreams of romance. Opal is strange, his stories don't make sense, and he's weirdly shy and lustful at the same time...yet he's sweet, and his kisses are addictive, and he makes Tristan's heart flutter.
Opal is sure theirs is a romantic story for the ages—but his secret might drive them apart for good. The Dragon and His Knight is a stand-alone set in the Monster's Pet universe. It is not necessary to listen to The Monster's Pet trilogy before diving in to Opal's story!

I can't get enough Dragon Shifter books. This is the start of a new series, and I have already downloaded book two, and it's queued ready for my next free time.
Opal is desperate to be loved but hasn't found a suitable suitor. So dressed as a human, he walks through a town.
Tristan, out to kill every dragon he can find to avenge his brother, stumbles across Opal, who is being robbed on the highway.
This story is not happy; things go from bad to worse for Opal.
This is so smoothly written you wouldn't know that two writers had done it.
But the best part was the narration by TJ Clark, and I loved it. I did have to speed up, but only to 1.20 on Audible. I recommend it. It is funny but with a trigger or two for some, but a big HEA for everyone.

Great paranormal romance! loved it!
Tristan is a knight on a mission, he wants to find a magic sword and murder the dragon that killed his brother. One day he saves a man, Opal, who ends up joining him on his mission. What Tristan doesn't know is that Opal is a lonely dragon who loves romance stories and is looking for the man of his dreams.
I loved Opal's sunshine and take charge personality. The misunderstanding between him and Tristan was very entertaining in the beginning but it led to serious trouble and some powerful scenes that had me hooked.
I also enjoyed the world and the magic and all the adventures the two of them had together.
The chemistry between Tristan and Opal was brilliant and I had a blast following their journey.
The narrator really brought the characters and the story to life. He was fantastic.
I loved it and highly recommend it.
