This is a action packed story and the “world” feels epic

The characters are well rounded and very interesting. The plot twist is brilliant the book is well written

I would recommend this book to anyone wanting to take a step into this genre it’s a good example and has a lot of the good bits from the fantasy world

I first found out about Sarah Hawke from listening to the Lost Fleet trilogy (which was amazing btw and would recommend it) and her next series looks like it's going to be another awesome series.

This book has a great premise, I usually read books where there was an ancient all powerful Dragon Empire that had collapsed into ruin. In this book we have the Dragon Empire at a cusp point where it can go either way, fall into ruin or have a resurgence. Mixed in with that you have beautiful women, arrogant dragons and great action.

Genre: Fantasy character driven harem with a shapeshifting dragon MC
Power dynamics in harem: Girls are driven by their own wants and ambitions but are absolutely devoted to MC
Explicit/adult material: Explicit and very well done.

Summary:
As one of the few dragons of the world and heir to the throne of this part of the empire there are many responsibilities, not least of which is choosing your harem and forging political connections.
But who wants a pretty, but untalented woman, when you can have confident and capable wifes, even if they aren't from politically advantagous families. Sure, the nobles might be unhappy, but how bad could it get?

Narration
Voice diversity: Really sollid, easy to follow and recognize characters by voice.
Pacing and intonation: The story is expertly told.
Sex scenes: Well done.
Overall Narration: 4.5/5 stars.

- The story is well written, I cared about the characters and them getting what they wanted.
- I love that the girls have their own wants and ambitions that they pursue with conviction
